I still have 4.86 installed because im afraid if i install the other one i will lose all my characters.
Can someone please explain the process of moving the chars?

nothing happens. you install 4.87 and play. simple as that.
your characters are there when you load up.

Get Freelancer Account Manager and save your account.
Then remove 4.86 and install 4.87 and process complete.

all you have to do is install 4.87 and thats it. no deleteing, no fam.

Still it is a good ideea to have FAM to backup your account.
Also, what is the point of keeping 4.86 when we got 4.87?

Well something to backup the account as an ideea is better anyway.
Even tho it is not needed you might never know...
