The usefulness of (medium) bombers. - Lythrilux - 09-17-2013
With the bomber changes in .87, I'm just wondering a few things:
1.Do Medium bombers have a purpose? They're inferior to heavy bombers in this version.
-Snacing snubs is much harder, thus their agility bonus doesn't really add much when faced with snubs
-Agility only delays the inevitable death. With fighter weapons buffed higher armor and more damage will be better than a the lighter, faster medium bombers?
2.Snacing gunboats?
-With the new arcs and aiming, will it be harder to use bombers against gunboats?
3.Vs Super Heavy Fighters
-Bombers were meant to be SHF killers in .86. What about now? Will bombers have to fall victim to SHFs in this version?

Bombers should not even be touching snubs and light caps. Give them torps only.
EDIT: Actually, scratch that. Remove bombers altogether. Separate caps and snubs from one another. Want to kill a cap? Bring caps.
Want to shoot snubs? Bring a snub. Gunboats are getting killed by two VHFs anyway, so np, they are pretty much buffed transports.

I'm not saying they should be fighting snubs at all. I'm just wondering if medium bombers are actually good for anything anymore.

Yep. They were OP in the last couple years. They were good in being OP like Bergel or the Thor or the GMG bomber.

Bombers are pretty darn versatile when you know how to use them (as is any ship), I actually prefer to see people in Bombers over Fighters.
