The Vereinigte Widerstandsarmee humbly thanks you for your sympathy and offer of aid. I have consulted our forces in the area of Munich and we have worked out the following solution:

Our hideout in the Munich System suffered having nearly half of its hundred-or-so permanent personnel incapacitated or otherwise "casualties". This base does not have the space to offer the medical aid necessary for these sixty Bundschuh members, so we turned our eyes to the nearest available space...

Barely visible in the radioactive murk is what remains of the Augsburg Colony. ALG and the Junkers are already picking at it, and have managed to restore functionality and pressure to a number of decks and areas of the derelict.

Under cover of the scanner-inhibiting dark matter, we managed to find a depressurized section of the hull that by sheer luck leads to a set of blast doors. In this stable, pressurized section, we have started a sort of hybrid Hospital/Repair Stockpile. We have taken in all sorts of pilots and employees regardless of affiliation, but our medical supplies run dangerously low.

With that monologue out of the way... What Bundschuh activists (and all cleanup crews, once my men make contact with other decks) need include

1) Quite literally refined metals of any kind; we may well need to experiment with various metals strong enough to resist something as corroding as dark matter.

2) Medical supplies such as Pharmaceuticals, Energy-Barriers, Med-Stasis Bands, etc.

I will tell the men there to be expecting you. In the meantime... I must ask a question. I have never heard of the Vagrant Raiders or the Natio Octavarium before... Would you mind telling me about yourselves, your history, and your goals?

Coordination of the relief efforts falls on Taskmaster Kane. He'll address this channel as soon as he's able; we're all quite busy and quite undermanned, but it should be within the day.

Natio Octavarium is a place where those who feel the need can start a new life. We've settled a small colony in the northern reaches of Planet Wichita, or New Westminster in our maps, as well as a small station in orbit. All who would work and treat those who work fairly are welcome. Political dissidents seeking safe harbor are also welcomed, incidentally.

Diplomatically, we maintain good relations with Bretonia and a passable peace and occasional co-operation with Liberty. We consider Gallia the number one human enemy of Sirian civilization, and consequently are working against their supporters.

Historically, as I'm sure the Hessians can tell you, the Raiders were rather heavily involved in the Cardamine trade under previous leadership. We still have peaceful relations with the Outcasts, primarily out of a desire to avoid making more enemies, but we do not transport Cardamine and are ardently opposed to the slave trade. I'm aware this may seem like a sudden change, but the leadership often dictates the character of an organization, especially with how quickly the membership changes.

Our goals are relatively simple:
  • We will do everything in our power to push Gallia back to their own space, whether through crippling their puppets in Kusari or raiding their military convoys. We do not take kindly to invaders.
  • We wish to establish Natio Octavarium as a free state for all those who want a second chance at life. We will not tolerate crime in our space, but if someone is legitimately repentent, we'll give them a chance. It will also be a place where workers will be treated fairly - the incidents at Alster and BMM's abuses on Leeds would have been severely punished here.

Now, if I may return your question with another one, how do you feel about Gallia, in particular their influence in Kusari and Rheinland? Kusari is getting the worst of it, but it seems to be leaking into Rheinland - perhaps due to the war with Liberty, I couldn't say.

It doesn't matter to me either way right now, the relief effort is our priority at the moment. However, it would be good to know where you stand.

Oberst,

The Vagrant Raiders transport corps is ready and able to move immediate relief supplies (pharmaceuticals, clean potable water, basic refined alloys, other simple but necessary things that aren't provided by an irradiated cloud) to the Augsburg colony wreck at the drop of a hat. We can prepare the procurement and transport of more intricate commodities for you.

In addition, building on what Minister Delacroix said, you and your people are hereby granted safe harbour in the New Caledonia -- Kansas, on most maps -- system, and will be protected under the watchful eye of the Metropolis.

I apologize for my lateness in my response. I have a lot to deal with these days.

Sincerely,

Harold A. Kane
Taskmaster, Vagrant Raiders
Minister of Relations, Natio Octavarium

Minsters Delacroix and Kane,

I am mildly wary of the Raiders' past connections to the Cardamine Trade, particularly being that Cardamine is, if you will pardon the expression, not an easy habit to kick.

Regardless, I will overlook that past and instead trust your word.

Gallia, being so far away from Rheinland in stellar terms, is the House that we likely have had the least amount of contact with. I suppose I can see the underpinnings of a "mutual alignment" between the Kingdom of Gallia, the Democratic Republic of Kusari, and the Federal Republic of Rheinland being the composing members of a trade bloc, or a group mutually opposed to Houses Liberty and Bretonia.

But as for actual contact, we have had none. Still... From the earliest urgent reports of a minefield breach in the Taus on the Neural Net, we learned of a democratic movement called "The Council" that stood opposed to what I quite frankly believe to be the kind of absolute leader Kanzler Rheinhardt envisions himself as; a King.

Presuming sustained diplomatic contact with Gallian parties would occur within the next few months, it would be assumed that the Widerstand would oppose the established Kingdom's convoys merely out of their supporting of the Bundesrepublik's economy. This is a hypothetical circumstance, of course.

Minister Kane, I offer you my profound thanks for your humanism and willingness to offer the Widerstand access to New Caledonia, but as it is far out of the reach of our standard operational zone, I fear those visits may be few and far between.

As a returned courtesy, I will grant Natio Octavarium and Vagrant Raiders docking permissions aboard our holdings in Frankfurt and Munich; Bruchsal and Eltmann, respectively.

As a final service, the Widerstand is more than willing to run escort or interference for your transport corps within Rheinlandic Space.
