Is Disc changing to a Test-Server or Admins-Favorite-Sever or ? - acqchangqing - 10-09-2013

Yes here are 28 players online by this time and maybe there were 56 or 84 players two months ago. This is what we don't like to see.

Yes Admins will probably endow us many rational reasons like fixing bugs, Thansk ! and we genuinely pray Disc revert to that crowded server like before if we don't like tranquility.

Yes. It's absolutely excited if we could use infinite money in any game. And then we can fly to the end of that game in a few minutes.

Correct?

People are not playing as often right now because the character database will be rolled back at some point once the beta testing is done. That means that all the information on player ships will be changed to what it was a couple weeks ago, resetting all the money in the game. Traders do not want to fly because any money they make now will vanish when the rollback happens.

Until then people are given infinite money to help find bugs in the mod so they can be fixed. But once the rollback comes there will not be any further money handouts on the part of the administration team.

It's in the middle of beta testing the new version.
Quite a few people aren't playing because the server will be rolled back in a few weeks or so.
The free money doesn't matter because it's only or a while and everything will be reset to before the beta once the official release is out, which also unfortunately means a lot of the things you do in-game won't actually matter after the rollback. (which is why a lot of people, especially the traders) aren't doing much right now.
The ones that are on, like me, are probably just using the beta period to do silly raids and fool around.. or try things they can't normally afford yet/in general becauseof the beta cash grant.

Edit: as usual, the duck is way too fast for me :V

I personally have concerns over how many of those people will return after the rollback, but that is not my domain to make judgements and decisions based on personal paranoia.

I think the main issue is that a lot of the new players aren't even aware that a rollback is gonna happen. I have seen quite a few new players on the server since 4.87 launched but they are almost always unaware that everything they do now is futile. When I talk to some of these players and inform them that a rollback is inevitable they are usually none too pleased. There should be something that pops up in game like the engagement notice that lets people know otherwise we will lose most of these new players.

Longtime player coming back from a Freelancer break, my ships were deleted due to my absence, no problem there. Saw the new mod was in Beta and climbed back onboard, with a Freelancer restart to begin anew. I didn't pay attention to the "Beta Cash restart", again my fault. Started trading and char building for several hours, got into a decent trade ship finally and started building up cash, then found out about the roll-back.....again my fault for not reading the forums more diligently. But I'm done until the Beta ends, no real point to it. Will "discover" things the old fashion way after the Beta. I do like what I've seen in my hours of playing the new mod. Just alittle frustrated I was grinding when didn't really need to. Oh well live and learn.
