Hello,
After numerous attempts to re-install Freelancer original copy then downloading the latest Disco Mod and using DSUpdate.exe to start up freelancer after the updates upon launch my screen goes totally black and I'm unable to F1, Alt F4 or Tab switch out. The only way to get out of it is to turn my PC off power, and then back on again.
What can I do to fix this please so I can get back in-game, I need to get back in soon cause I'm running [*USI*] as President, thank you.

Why do you use dsupdate.exe ?

Checks for new updates of the mod before then opening Freelancer.exe

Actually, the game is auto-checking for updates using dsupdate.exe when you launch it so no need.

I don't think so no, but I'll go ahead and re-search for it for a download.
I'm using;
Radeon HD7950 3GB GDDR5 PCI Express Graphics Card
Which is more than required especially as I've got
16GB Corsair DDR3 1600MHz C9 Dual Channel Memory Kit (4 x 4GB)
Core i7 2700K 8MB Cache Socket 1155
Just to carry it through...
I'll try reinstall my graphics driver from the AMD website and get back to you all

Nothings worked, so far still blank screen and can't alt tab or alt f4 and cnt alt del won't work either.
I still have to power down and power back up.

In the same situation i delet my antivirus, clean registry, reboot comp and all working!

I found out my issue to the mod downloads, when I went to collect the file from the MODDB website, I come across having to be sent to Gamefront for the old download, once I logged into MODDB and install from there, I managed to update to 3 successfully and then it worked perfectly.
I used to crash upon launch of freelancer, now its working perfectly.
Admins/Devs ; = I suggest updating the GameFront download so people like myself don't get confused if they don't log into ModDB
