-Today was exhausting. Almost as soon as I hit active duty, myself and another Navy boy scanned an incoming freighter and found a load of synth marijuana. After an order to halt he- of course- docked with Manhatten. Upon launch he was surrounded and ordered to pay a fine (steeply reduced for his lower level), he proceeded to say that he would not accept this judgement unless we had proper proof.
I explained to him we did indeed have the clear-cut evidence in our scanner dumps (SSs). Naturally, he continued to mouth off to us, claiming we had no proof (and also yelling at us that SSs are ooRP...). I unfortunately was forced to terminate the smuggler with a high density packet of firepower into his reactor, vaporizing him almost instantly. (//I won't say his name, he was upset at the time and I was able to calm him down and explain how smugglers are treated by lawfuls.)
-Soon after, myself along with LN and LSF personel were informed of a smuggler by the name of Sevion hauling artifacts through Alaska. We confidently set up a blockade at the Cali gate, Norfolk, and Zone-21. Precious minutes went by, and still no smuggler.
We were suddenly informed that he was spotted high above Manhatten. How did he get past us? (//He also reportedly cruised off vertically at an extremely high rate of speed. Speed mod is suspected) After a wide sweep of the area above Manhatten, I found no trace of the pilot. Checking back on my long range scanners, I found him back in Alaska! This guy is like a snake... (//Or a cheater, but who am I to say?)
-Did you expect this day to calm down? No indeed. Not long after the previous fiasco, HF vessels began to show up in systems surrounding New York; an assault was in the works! Myself and a naval gunboat formed an ambush at the Conn. jump hole, while the others stood vigil at West Point. Soon enough a Hacker bomber shot out the jump hole like a bat out of hell and high tailed it over to the trade lane to Norfolk. Looks like the attack would be on the academy after all.
We slammed our engines in full gear and took off after the hostile. What happened next was the most violent battle I've ever experienced firsthand. At least two cruisers, a gunboat, and two fighters were already waging war around West Point on what seemed to be three Sabres and the aforementioned Falcata (the IDs I remember are: Kimberly Serra, Jason Moore, and another one named Rai- something). The station was heavily battered and scorched, some sections looking not unlike blackened chunks of the Pittsburgh Debris Field. Despite my scanners giving me problems and horrible errors, I swallowed the lump in my throat and thrusted into battle.
The rest is mostly a blur. After pinning some fire into the tail of a fighter, the battle group and I recieved the order to focus on the bomber, Moore, who was unloading heavy damage on a cruiser. I broke course and fought through the H-Fuel emmision induced ion storm and brought myself up behind the torpedo wielding monster. He was a helluva good pilot and it took a slew of mutual fire to finally put him into vacuum. With the bomber toast, I coaxed my engines in the direction of another fighter. By that time my systems started to give me a little less hassle and I was able to put in more than a handful of shots into my target, another wingman landing the killing blow. With my quarry out of commision, I brought up my target list to find it empty of hostiles. Looked like the others finished them off during my dogfight. Score one for Liberty!
I sent for repair crews for the academy and brought my Lib into dock with the Manhatten tradelane, assessing my damage during the ride. My tail section took a shot or two that the shields couldn't filter out, but I didn't seem to have much issues. Good to know my Lib will be back in action real soon. I set down on the planet where I'm sending this communique out from.
Hasting out.

The battlecruiser Kearsarge is hereby declared a traitor to the Navy and Liberty, he's armed and dangerous and the whole crew seems to share its Commander's rogue view. The ship is banned from Liberty under pain of death to the Commander if it should return, the crew is to be put in custody until a court martial has been done. The ship has already attacked other members of the Navy and I have no doubt it will try so again, execute the cowardly Commander and bring this ship home if possible ladies and gentlemen.

Helo sir, this is just me telling you, the mission is complete, Ralph Stevenson is in a cell on Sugarland, after a long and grueling fight... he took the ship of an LPI officer, and he was defeating me.... but, in the end... he gave in, I convinced him of what he was doing was wrong... and what LN stands for.

At the start, it was going well, I had knocked out all his shield batteries, and had landed a sidewinder in his hull.... but from then on, it went downwards... He tried to convince me to join his side, but, no, I did not.

For if I was to do this, who would protect Liberty, from him, who would stop him from killing?

It is my job to protect the innocents, to put myself in harm's way so they do not have to.

I succeeded... He gave in when I convinced him, just as well, as my hull integrity was dangerously low.

With Captain Benson as escort, we took him to Sugarland... he docked, and is now in an 8x8 cell.

Evidence One
Evidence Two

Only then did he tell me his true name....

Jason Launders.

To: Liberty Forces
Subject: Heavy Enemy Attack

Mission Report:

I was on Planet Houston when I got called by a convoy of traders who got attacked and destroyed in new york. I didn't receive their location but I had to go there to secure the area.
We got to Norfolk and we meet with a gunboat LNS-Retribution. We both were standing near Norfolk when suddenly on the long range scanners a large group of rogues, outcasts and others got to us.
There were no fighter patrols to help us out..
I ordered to my crew to attack using all the turrets. We managed to bring down few of them but we lost the LNS-Retribution. And after that, they received a small backup and I couldn't stand their fire.
I`m uploading an image who was taken in combat shortly before our ship got destroyed.
At the end one navy fighter managed to get to us but was too late.

I`ve talked with my friends at Baltimore seems that all my crew managed to use the escape pods in time.
They are all safe now. I also heard that the DSE engineers will be able to replace the ship in time and will be the same type and model using same technology.

-----ID: Sub. Lt. Mike Ypsilantis----

What a horrid day. My shift started out with a abrupt start. I was alerted of a order fleet in Alaska, so I quickly went to Norfolk and docked, switching to my bomber, which was stationed there. I then proceeded to Alaska when I saw the fleet. 2 Osiris's and one Corsair Cruiser. On our side was the Providence, a Dread, and Gafwmn, a Assual Cruiser. We waited in a standoff for more reinforcements to arrive, in the form of a LSF bomber, Liquid, and a trusty Bounty Hunter in a Battlecruiser, named Mere Mortal. After our reinforcements arrived, the Osiris's cloaked and fled the system, with the uncloakable cruiser following.

Then, arriving back in NY, things went sour. At WP there were four hostiles, 1 gunboat, one missileboat, a bomber, and a sabre. Mere mortal, a fellow LN officer, and myself engaged. The other LN officer, who's name I cannot quite recall at the moment, was destroyed first, and Mere Mortal soon fell from a GB and bomber assualt. The missile boat, quiet frankly, pulverized my bomber, stripping it off all of weapons, including my supernova, and soon I ejected from the burning ship.

After a relapse in the hospital, I launched and received a distress call from Fluid. I quickly made my way to his location, and found him engaged with 2 liberty rogues. One of them, a bomber, soon fell, but the other fled. I then headed back to the other half of the battle where a phantom was engaged with 2 fighters. We engaged the phantom for a while, until a comrade arrived, and we began a steady retreat towards the Mississippi. One of our gunboats, Bean, was destroyed, and soon, there was a standoff. The 2 phantoms were reinforced with a third phantom, but they were hesitant to attack with the Mississippi guarding us. After a while, they turned and fled, and we received another distress call from NY.

We quickly headed to the Cali JG, where we saw the missile boat from this morning, as well as 2 fighters. Soon, both fell from our assualt. Finally things were at peace. Or so it seemed. 3 more phantoms appeared in NY, and I decided another assualt would be costly to us. So I decided to call in our fleet, comprised of a battleship, a cruiser, and a gunboat to scare them off. The Ohio, which had been left in Texas earlier to guard the system, soon fell to the Phantom's wrath shortly after I arrived. It was then that my vitals began dropping, apparently the stress caused by the twin battles one after another had caused my injuries to flare up again, so I docked with Houston and hoped the Phantoms would flee from our fleet as planned instead of engaging.

As of now, my bomber is out of commission from lack of proper weaponry.

INCOMING TRANSMISSION

Sender : Captain CJ Edwards
Source : Bounty Hunter Battle Cruiser "Explorer"
Target : Liberty Navy Sub-Lt. Mike Ypsilantis

Greetings Mike,

I hope you're well enough after that onslaught by our enemies, either way at least you're alive.

I must offer a most sincere apology for my failure to stick to the task against those targets, it is unfortunate that my Battle Cruiser is either too slow for those Gunboats or it's just my command that leaves a lot to be desired. My power-hungry load-out may also have been a problem, so I need to reconsider the turrets as well. I know my main target was the missile boat, but I was taking too much fire from the other gunboat and the bomber so my attention was diverted towards them.

Next time I offer my services to Liberty, I sure hope I can fulfil the ambition of protecting her adequately.

Best Regards,
CJ
