Camille is a woman that has spent most of her life on the run from one group or another and, as has to expected of someone in such a situation, has become rather adept at running. Neither an athlete nor a slob, the Gallic maintains the physique required of a Legionnaire - and little besides. Happily outside the bounds of the regular Navy's uniform standards, her red locks hang just above her shoulders, a remnant of a time where the ability to obscure her face from a vigilant camera or attentive employer was a vital survival skill. Nonchalant when it comes to clothing, she has developed a fondness for the Foreign Legion's kepi, though rarely wears it, or any element of her formal uniform, outside of special occasions.

Personality
As evasive and mocking in conversation as she is in combat, there is more to the slight Legionnaire then meets the eye. Uncomfortable and often quiet in large groups, Camille could have been born to the small raiding teams dispatched by the Legion. While she would never consider herself a coward, in truth she adheres to a far more fluid style of battle then most of Royal Navy, preferring to withdraw in a hazardous situation rather then risk losses. Ultimately, like most of Foreign Legion, Camille's principles are a matter defined by survival.

Raised among stories of the inevitable Royalist victory, she still clings to the image of the noble Gallic soldier triumphing against the odds. Indeed, it was that deep-seated ideal of glory that first drove her to take up arms for the Crown. Honor and courage were virtues to be praised and goals to strive for. Experience quickly dictated otherwise. Though the ideas that once drove her to sign her name on the enlistment paperwork have faded as surely as the ink in which she wrote it, buried beneath the weight of experience, there is a part of her that holds to them yet, longing to return to Lyons a hero.

History

Born on Lyons to a middle-class family shortly before the outbreak of the Second Gallic War, Camille spent her early years in relative safety, enthralled with the stories from the frontline. Following an uneventful childhood she served a brief stint in the Royal Navy's Flight Training School before flagging results led to her expulsion from both the course and the Navy.

Lacking the aptitude for military flying but nonetheless enraptured with the ideal, Camille turned her hand to mercenary work, flying as an escort for whoever would pay, and occasionally turning her Lynx's guns on the Kingdom's various enemies as part of a standing arrangement for the ship's purchase.

Frequently outnumbered and often isolated from other Royalist forces, she developed a preference for hit-and-run attacks rarely practised by the gargantuan Gallic military, striking vulnerable elements in Bretonian convoys and vanishing before their escorts could bring weapons to bear. Nonetheless, it was a risky method of warfare, and took its toll when she strayed too close to a drive-equipped carrier and was dragged along with the warship's jump.

The months that followed were a frantic patchwork of ships, homes and faces, one star blending into another as she hopped from planet to planet, struggling to stay a step ahead from the Sirian police forces nipping at her heels. A series of bribes from increasingly dwindling funds secured her return to Bretonian space and would have, but for the actions of a treacherous Junker, guaranteed her arrival in Gallia.

Instead, she languished in a Leeds holding cell awaiting trial, freedom sold for a neural net transfer. It was there she remained until the planet was liberated by Gallic ground forces. Returned to Gallia without a ship, funds, or work, she searched for purpose and found it in the Foreign Legion, an organisation that fought along the same lines she had operated alongside as a Freelancer. She shipped out for training in 733A.G.S.

Grand Marechal of the Royal Navy and Commanding Officer of the Foreign Legion, Ansel Xavier is an anomaly among the ranks of the Navy. Camille is vaguely familiar with the Marechal from a failed mercenary contract prior to her capture. His unconventional views on warfare and the use of small strike teams quickly won the approval of the junior legionnaire, as did his willingness to fly alongside the troops of the Legion when he accompanied Danny Neilsen and Camille into Libertonian space.

Danny Neilsen

Camille is altogether unsure what to make of the Rogue-turned legionnaire. Comfortably laid back, his casual attitude and apparent ability to shrug off her barbs presents Camille with a both a chatty wingman and impartial target. She is not without her reservations; however. The ease with which the man turned upon his former allies in the Rogues and Hackers unnerves her, making it difficult for her to wholly trust him at her back, despite his claims that betrayal is a fact of life among pirates.

Harbinger

[Image: 6Zkp0Yh.png][Image: azw8fgB.png][Image: azw8fgB.png][Image: azw8fgB.png][Image: Ub9bjhp.png][Image: azw8fgB.png][Image: azw8fgB.png][Image: azw8fgB.png][Image: azw8fgB.png][Image: n7sukti.png]

Strange almost beyond comprehension, Camille encountered her first nomad in the ice clouds of Edinburgh. The experience left her with a persistent headache and far more questions then it answered. Hinting at the existence of secrets within the Royal Navy that contained clues as to the creature's own nature, Camille's curiosity outweighs caution when it comes to the nomad. Nonetheless, she still finds the creature inherently unnerving, like icy water poured down her spine.

Pascal Baton

[Image: 6Zkp0Yh.png][Image: azw8fgB.png][Image: azw8fgB.png][Image: azw8fgB.png][Image: Ub9bjhp.png][Image: azw8fgB.png][Image: azw8fgB.png][Image: azw8fgB.png][Image: azw8fgB.png][Image: n7sukti.png]

Cheerful to a point that belies belief, Pascal has been an off-and-on wingman of Camille's. Naive enough to compete with a room of schoolchildren on equal footing when it comes to Sirius, Pascal is the epitome of the shut-in Gallic. In spite of, or perhaps because of, his faintly-deluded honesty Camille does have a soft spot for the Junior Officer, viewing him more like a faltering younger brother then fellow armed forces pilot. Whether that will be enough to keep her from dragging him into her schemes remains to be seen.

Theresa Mignard

[Image: 6Zkp0Yh.png][Image: azw8fgB.png][Image: azw8fgB.png][Image: azw8fgB.png][Image: Ub9bjhp.png][Image: azw8fgB.png][Image: azw8fgB.png][Image: azw8fgB.png][Image: azw8fgB.png][Image: n7sukti.png]

Xavier's bodyguard and l'execeteur, Camille finds Theresa's straightforwardness refreshing among the politicking that usually dominates the Navy. Sufficiently sardonic to give the Legionnaire a run for her money, Theresa lacks Camille's manipulative streak in favor of loyalty to the Crown, a state of affairs Camille is quite happy with. A fearsome combatant; Camille does harbor some jealousy over Theresa's relationship with the Marechal - a position of influence that she would have been quite glad to have for herself.

Marcell Chevalier

[Image: 6Zkp0Yh.png][Image: azw8fgB.png][Image: azw8fgB.png][Image: azw8fgB.png][Image: Ub9bjhp.png][Image: azw8fgB.png][Image: azw8fgB.png][Image: azw8fgB.png][Image: azw8fgB.png][Image: n7sukti.png]

A veteran officer of the Royal Navy, Marcell's first deployment with Camille was during the early days of Operation Trident, with Marcell, then a Commandant, providing support aboard Lyon. A kind man, perhaps too much so for an individual of his rank, the two were quick to strike up conversation. Despite his senior position Camille harbors her own doubts, born from his disregard for Gallia's part in the war, and reluctance to accept the human cost involved. He has expressed a preference for securing internal security in Gallia, an assignment safely away from the realities of the war, and one Camille hopes he'll receive. Until then, the legionnaire has resolved to keep one eye on Marcell's loyalties.

Ryuho

[Image: 6Zkp0Yh.png][Image: azw8fgB.png][Image: azw8fgB.png][Image: v98FTJ9.png][Image: v98FTJ9.png][Image: azw8fgB.png][Image: azw8fgB.png][Image: azw8fgB.png][Image: azw8fgB.png][Image: n7sukti.png]

An Order Agent Camille made contact with in the course of her investigation into the Nomads, the contact proved to provide almost more frustration then it was worth. Offering little help beyond suggesting what would have amounted to a suicide mission, their meeting was enough to instill serious doubts in Camille as to the Order's capabilities. Equipped with what Camille sees as as an irritating tendency to speak in circles and, though never impolite, definitely and resolutely unhelpful, Camille retains contact with him only due to his position as one of her few contacts within the elusive organisation.

Lucie LeBlanc

[Image: 6Zkp0Yh.png][Image: azw8fgB.png][Image: MBRRQfu.png][Image: MBRRQfu.png][Image: MBRRQfu.png][Image: azw8fgB.png][Image: azw8fgB.png][Image: azw8fgB.png][Image: azw8fgB.png][Image: n7sukti.png]

If words were blades, Lucie and Camille would have to wear armor. Harsh and condescending, Lucie was quick to discount Camille's encounter with Harbinger as nothing more then paranoia, following up with a tirade of insults directed at both her and the Foreign Legion. Camille has little respect for the Général, and even less patience. Hostile employers are nothing new to Camille, though remaining bound to them for longer than a few weeks is. So far, she has managed to keep her tongue in check, though every encounter between the two spawns a volley of veiled insults and mutual contempt.
