Hellfire Legion Message Dump (AO) - Echo 7-7 - 04-14-2012

All Logistics wing personnel are advised to remain outside of Bretonian space for the duration of my communication with BAF high command. You will be informed if and when it will be suitable to return there.

The Legionnaires assigned to Home Guard should be congratulated for their vigilance in the Kansas system. Keep your wits about you - many different factions wish to exploit the system's vast expanse, and we cannot permit that without a degree of regulation. When encountering parties that appear to be neutral, it would be wise to avoid firing first, so that we may avoid being blamed for unnecessary agression.

Stay true to the ideals of the Legion, and we will prevail!

Effective immediately all Legion assets are to cease their operations in the Kansas system.

The High Command requires time to analyze the situation in order to plan the next steps.

Return to regular duties in the Liberty core systems.

Grand Admiral Hunter out.

Here's the latest news from Kansas:

Upon returning from Leeds as ordered, I received a distress call by Maximum Peaches. I immediately jumped in my Scimitar and began re-transmitting the message to every legion pilot in Vespucci. I was the first to arrive and aid our pilot, the place again being Key Axial, Kansas. He was quite outmanned- a 5vs1 situation. The hostiles were not attacking though, claiming they wanted a peaceful resolution. I, too, decided it would be better not to engage, since we were not entirely sure what is going on at that base. Rumors have it that they hide civilians there, but I doubt it, especially after finding industrial materials and munitions in one of the Juggernaut class carriers yesterday. Something fishy was going on there...

These were my thoughts as I approached the station when suddenly I picked up an Osiris class battleship and a Hathor class gunboat , which as you can see had remains of Nomad ships aboard. I don't know what those civilians are doing with them, probably examining the remnant technology and developing something similar of their own? Not an everyday civilian's schedule, right? Especially in Kansas, far away from foreign eyes... Now I think we, the legion, have every right to know what the hell is going on there!

The ToP guys and the Order vessels did not think so, however, and we found ourselves forced to remove them from the area. The battle was one of the most intense I have seen in years. We were quite outmanned and outgunned at first. We held on until the Polyphemus arrived with additional reinforcements. From that point on the tide of the battle was turned in to our favor. I was constantly under fire by their most experienced ToP fighter, the Princess Candy. Thus I gave my mates the opportunity to focus on other targets. I even had the chance to take down one of the mercs that chose the wrong side.

Although my ship was destroyed at the final stages of the battle and I had to escape via the escape pod, the rest of my squadron managed to eradicate all hostiles. All in all, we won the battle. However, the shields of the base are still operational.

I guess, having in mind the new orders from HC, we have to let the situation cool down for a bit, but I reckon we still have the right to know what's going on at that base.

Here's a rough recap of both today and yesterday's engagements:

Yesterday:

1. Base and capital ships located
2. The Libertine's arrival at the scene
3. The Libertine charging the three capital ships from above.
4. The Libertine and the FuManchu pinning down the Scarlet Pride
5. The Scarlet Pride's last seconds

Kills:

1. Carpe Diem slain by [HF]-Jordan.Ackland
2. Rinzler slain by [HF]-Dillion.Bynum
3. Karnir Banor and Medz slain by [HF]-HFB-Polyphemus
4. MCS-Forlorn.Horn destroyed by [HF]-HFB-Libertine

Today:

Log: 1 2

Preparations and actual battle:
1. ToP squad
2. Osiris and merc
3. Hathor GB standing by
4. Hathor's nomad cargo
5. The Polyphemus charging on Thanix
6. The Polyphemus pinning down Thanix
7. Destruction of the Thanix
8. my last stand

Kills:
1. Tijno Powers slain by [HF]-William Sweeney
2. CAV-Thanix destroyed by [HF]-HFB-Polyphemus
3. SV-Savannah destroyed by a flying Pancake
4. Kamir Banor slain by yours truly

This is all that I managed to retrieve from my wrecked ship.
Until the repairs on my ship are finished I'll be at Monterey.

You know how the story goes, right? Two rogues setting up a camp at a casual California lane, an Outcast casually sniffing cardamine next to them and bunch of police and navy boys casually hammering them with threats, whilst standing safely behind the cannons of a Liberty Assault Battlecruiser. What can I say more, I just couldn't resist joining in the fray. I just had to pick the right moment, when both sides were most vulnerable...

New orders concerning the Kansas system:

The base known as Key Axial is to be left alone, all Legion vessels are to stay minimum 10K away unless invited by one of the bases operators, these would be Cerberus, the =CB=, [ToP] and the vessels flying under [KA] transponders.

None of the aforementioned groups are hostile to the Legion, and it's in our interest to keep it that way.

Any other bases found in the Kansas system are to be destroyed if it can be proved that they belong to unlawful groups. Should such a situation occur the High Command expects a detailed documentation about it.

One more thing:

Any Zoner colony ship being used as a vessel of war has abandoned the true zoner way of peace. Any such ships are no better than pirate scum to the Legion.

I think every Legionnaire knows how to deal with such colony ships.

Capture if possible, destroy if not.

Grand Admiral Hunter out.

Pain here with the latest report:

I recently had an unusual meeting, with an unusual person. While on a regular patrol at Magellan I received e message on my personal communications channel. It was a message from Tofa Farron, captain of the 41st navy squadron's gunboat Reflexica, requesting a rendezvous. I couldn't believe my ears at first. I proceeded to laugh all over the cockpit at this. But finally reason grabbed a hold of me and after replaying the message it seemed legitimate. For this past month spent in the ranks of the Legion I learned never to trust anything and anyone...but I also have this thing for trouble. When I sense it, I feel the urge to seek it out. So I decided to meet the captain at the specified location, thought it smelled of a trap.

Long-story-short, she wanted to meet me and discuss if there was a possibility for her to join our ranks. It was obvious she was fed up with the garbage that was thrown at her from the 41st's high commanding officers. Needless to say I did not deny the capt. the conversation, and to be honest, she kind of reminds me of myself when I tried to escape the clutches of the navy. However, she is a mid-ranked captain in her group's hierarchy; she can't leave that easily.

I, on the other hand, leave this matter in the caring hands of our admirals and let them decide the fate of this lady. In my opinion, if she is really telling the truth and her intentions are pure, she and her ship may prove to become a valuable asset of the Legion.

So get this, you guys. I got an awesome deal with this trader. I bought about 20 top-secret class 10 guns. All in all it cost me 40 million credits, but I think it was more than superb. I think they will make fine upgrade for our fighter wings. Currently they are stored at the gamma 6, but if someone from the admiralty would be kind enough, they can be transferred in the armory.

On a separate note: After escorting Yuki to Aland shipyard and back with some robotics for Amerigo Depot, I had to answer a distress call from an unknown civilian in California. The poor guy was destroyed before I got to the scene by the pirate transport vehicle, operated by a Vagrant Raider. I don't know to what extent our alliance hold on with them, but such acts of piracy are not compatible with Legion's way. Next time I will have photographic proof of the event if it happens, I forgot to mount cameras on the new guns I just installed.

Pain here. This one is a casual report of a police officer getting served at California. The poor bastard intercepted me right before I began the docking sequence with the gate to New York. As you can see I had to remove him from my way...

The good old tin can however took a good deal of pounding as well. I didn't have time to celebrate my victory as the hull of my ship started to fall apart. I was forced to land on planet California Minor for emergency repairs. The Planetform-owned robot personnel here is repairing the right wing and the respective firing systems as we speak. If the procedures go according to plan I expect to be airborne in less than 5 hours and continue to rain havoc upon those navy dogs and their police cronies.

The Legion won't tolerate insults and threats from a pathetic group of individuals, nor will it tolerate its presence.

Fair enough, people may dig their own graves, makes our job much easier.

Effective immediately, all vessles belonging to the Vagrant Raiders are to be threatened as hostile forces.

Deal with them accordingly.
