Dear Jansen - Trogdor - 11-18-2013

What you say:

What I hear:

Is this about the truth of it? Or is there some other, more valid reason for what seems like a dramatic shift in balance policy, that I'm just not seeing?

This combination of infinite cloaks and free-engagement IDs does not seem to me like something we should be doing, when the community is already dwindling and sever population is low even in prime hours. If this is some attempt to get people to group up and fly together.. I think all it's going to do is cause butthurt and drive people away.

RE: Dear Jansen - Narcotic - 11-18-2013

Hello, I'm Jansen's secretary,

I'm here to speak on his behalf: "It's all about bi[A]s and conspir[A]cy. The one with the most power gets the best toys. Simple. Meow." Thank you for your time. For questions, please do not contact us.

Yours,
Narcotic

P.S.: A pity that I yet hadn't time to abuse those new toys...

edit: Whoops, not flood? Let's see if I can get my act together and contribute something non-floodish.

As already mentioned, I yet hadn't the chance to try those new cloak things. Though I can imagine that there's many possibilites to abuse those. Which suprises me that they actually made it into the game. This gives more reason that people who have access to those, should try their best to not troll players but use them to create a more intense roleplay environment. I mean, what would be cooler to finally be able to RP vanilla wilds? Sounds neat. For both sides.

Ah, since you meantioned the word "op" - nomads always were and always will be underpowered due to their lack of numbers/players. Therefore I feel that some advantage would be anything but unfair.

really? interesting, perhaps we all should adopt a shoot a nom on sight, no mucking about, no chit chat, nothing said, just get the big guns and whack em

A pity that such actions happen all the time, but from the human side not from the nomads...

Welllll....

I'm up for it.

RE: Dear Jansen - JD.Bane - 11-18-2013

Free engagement? OK, I can deal with that. As has been said, we just don't bother with RP when it comes to Noms.

Infinite cloak? ::jeez:: wish I had one of those...

Really, though, isn't that just a little over the top? No RP requirement and you can't see them until they've got their guns pointed up your butt? Really?

Who said they are not obligated to roleplay with you before they shoot you?...

RE: Dear Jansen - Rodnas - 11-18-2013

I think the problem is that players want to "win" instead of getting a better atmosphere, immersion and a more graspable danger by having strong nommies/wilde. With a attitude shifted to storytelling ( "and back then, that sucker shot me right out of thin air, i barely came out alive") instead of "red on scanner, engaging" pvp with bare minimum rulekeeping rp this server could actually gain a lot.
Then again, this would need mature players and those are hard to come by^^ (-this is in no way ment to be offensive!)

Perhaps I misunderstood "Free engagement ID". Or, perhaps, it was the description of events in this sanction:

(Hope I got that link right.)

This very much sums it up the way I see this. Thanks a lot Rodnas.
