The Engine plugin will become usless at this rate. - Lythrilux - 12-16-2013 Ok, so a lot of us are loving how new engines look. For example UC engines on a Outcast ship which look nice. However the tech chart implementation that will be introduced soon will prevent stuff like this happening. Lets not kid ourselves, once this happens people are going to stop bothering changing engines. Why? Why would I bother getting a 75% - 90% nerf on my ship for the sake of a cosmetic engine effect? I know the dev team is looking at implementing unique engine stats, but keeping them faction restricted is either: A. going to make some factions OP B. Make some factions underpowered or C. Be a waste of a plugin anyway. Therefore, I suggest we get rid of making all engines with different cosmetic effects faction specific, and introduce a bunch of generic faction (e.g civilian) engines that have different cosmetic effects and also have new stats which can give the player flexibility with the engines they use. Thoughts? RE: The Engine plugin will become usless at this rate. - sindroms - 12-16-2013 I want an ossie ring effect on my libbie.... RE: The Engine plugin will become usless at this rate. - LunaticOnTheGrass - 12-16-2013 I was acting under the assumption that the differing engine-effects work best on the most modular (that is to say, Civilian) ships in the first place. UC and Outcasts are pretty hated foes in the first place to my understanding, I dunno why the Corse would tolerate their unique tech falling into the wrong hands. RE: The Engine plugin will become usless at this rate. - Tankman - 12-16-2013 Yea when I heard of this I thought it was bizarre. Why have a cosmetic effect cause a technerf? So ya, I agree. RE: The Engine plugin will become usless at this rate. - Just.Dave - 12-16-2013 Well i do get that He since it idea of tec nerf. So if engine are going get stats for that house if ok but to maybe not tec nerf it to id but rep it be better so if your an merc or house lawful or unlawful using say civ ship but i aloud merc of that group to use engine without getting nerf for use friendly client engine RE: The Engine plugin will become usless at this rate. - sindroms - 12-16-2013 I wish they had a negative tech effect. Say you had a LPI Kamamoe. And you mounted a Lib lawful engine on it. Boom, less technerf. RE: The Engine plugin will become usless at this rate. - Ryummel - 12-16-2013 So it's just about earning the medal "because we're adding new features" and nerfing them into uselessness few weeks later, right? RE: The Engine plugin will become usless at this rate. - Just.Dave - 12-16-2013 if it ain't broke they'll find a way to break it RE: The Engine plugin will become usless at this rate. - SMGSterlin - 12-16-2013 Here's a thought... Why don't we have different engine types you can buy for your ship? Customize your ride's engine to look how you wish. EDIT: Oh, that's how it is now apparently... *shrugs* I haven't touched .87. RE: The Engine plugin will become usless at this rate. - Hidamari - 12-16-2013 Why not just have the engines, as part of the pimpship function, instead of going around the houses when all it is, is a cosmetic upgrade. |
