EDIT: Ok, I should expand on this.
With SHFs falling into a terribad tier of ships, since they've virtually been outclassed by other ships due to mod changes, perhaps giving them a buff by letting them use (OP) LF guns could make them useful again?

LF guns were balanced (I use that term sparingly) for the low powercores of LFs, so that they could only fire them in small bursts of high damage. Putting them on the massively-cored SHFs just means super-high damage for an extended period of time, and with some of them having high numbers of forward-firing guns that'd likely be even worse.

SNACs are indeed the exact same as fighter guns with incredibly higher refire rates and projectile speeds.

no they just have over a hundred times the damage output on a single shot. go figure. no reason not to put other ridiculously high DPS weapons on large slow fighter craft.
