We implemented a new version of name changing on our server which is much easier for us and hopefully this means they will be done much more frequently than before.
Advantages:
- characters will be inviteable after a name change (sorry the old renamed ones will remain 'uninviteable')
- namechanges will be done for free - NCCs no longer necessary
- they can be done on a running server - if the player is logged in, he/she will only be kicked in the process
But we have to also restrict posting name changing requests...
RULES for posting name change requests:
1) Name changes are for FREE (no NCCs are needed any more)
2) Your post has to include ONLY this: "rename <old_name> <new_name>", nothing else. (e.g.: rename imthekiller [ABC]Escort.1)
3) 1 line for 1 request, you can include more requests in 1 post.
4) No spaces at the beginning nor in the end!
5) New name must have MAXIMUM 23 characters!
6) Give no explanations of the reason of name change and don't comments others!
7) Don't abuse the new free system of name changes, stick to you RP and don't overload admins!
8) Once your character is renamed, the request is deleted.
9) Mention if your character has been renamed before using the old character renaming method.

Unfortunately characters that have been renamed using the old version of name changing remain bugged and can't be renamed swiftly using the new version so they have to be renamed the old way (server needs to be taken offline for that).
And there is nothing to do about it (except a player wipe)...:(

by some chance you had to wipe them would you reimburse the charcters wiped (ie admin place them in there ships )just let them get the load out)

I've added another rule to the Name Change Requests which makes it a bit easier on us to get them done quicker.

hummm may I just make one lil suggestion
I think I posted like 5 minutes ago,,,although, If I posted,,, my post went poof into thin air. Pretty confusing, plus i'm at job atm.
Could it be possible to post a new list of NCC that have been done every day? otherwise, I'm confused alot.
