Rule question - Reid - 01-11-2014

So is it still against the rules to fly around with a ship that has components intentionally blown off? An admin ruled eons ago that it was abusing game mechanics, and I was wondering if that's still the case

RE: Rule question - Echo 7-7 - 01-11-2014

I believe this is a moot point since destroying components is no longer possible. If it was, however, then yes, the rule would still be in effect.

Really? What happened to that?

There was a significant issue in balance between fighters that had multiple components (ie. bits that could be broken off) compared to non-vanilla fighters, none of which had destroyable components. Hull damage from AoE weapons (missiles) hit multiple components per shot for stacked damage, which was not intended, as it made them far too vulnerable to missiles compared to other fighters. Therefore, all fighters were changed to be one single component (the actual hull).

Ah, well that sucks. I liked having wings blown off and stuff

Thanks for the info though, thread has served its purpose

Erm I don't think that's true (unless I'm being miss guided here). I was in a fight with some RFP, sairs and hessians and somehow they all managed to blow off every single weapon, thruster and all of that stuff. I was just left with a CD
