Devs why did you destroy the omicrons? - Vrabcek - 01-11-2014

Today I was flying in the omicrons, mainly in omicron zeta, minor, mu, 100 and in two hours I couldn't even meet a soul, not to mention the look at the player list was even more sadder to see that only about two or three people are in a system with omicron in the front.

So what happened to the one of the most crowded part of sirius and why?...

Buffer systems,

Reason? just because.

more systems more fun, isnt it?

"Spread the wealth bro" takes on a new meaning here.

Reasons why Omicrons are dead:
  • Useless, crappy buffer systems
  • No decent sell points for commodities, terrible economy
  • Not really a lot of reason for factions to fly around in the Omicrons
  • The only near decent mining field is being left alone by the devs, given no support or growth and just left to be a useless minable commodity.

Omicrons need activity that isn't PvP. BHG|Core log on (heh, as if) when Order| log on, K'Hara| log in when either of those is on (usually).

Guess what. They all end up waiting for eachother.

I suggest some sort of mining activity.

Or, well, the stuff that Yuri's working on 8|

Here marks the end of the open Nom ID experiment

If Nomad snubs were properly competitive with human shiplines, I think we'd see more activity too.

I rarely take a Nomad snub out into the Omicrons because I don't feel like getting a Sascya versus Nepthys fight. And the Nepthys isn't even that amazing (anymore).

PvP-oriented factions kind of need PvP-capable ships if you want them to log. I think it'd also get more indies logging Nomads if the ships were better.
