Transport Ship Bounty - Thargoid - 01-12-2014

Do I need to issue a demand before destroying a transport that has a blanket bounty on it?

E.G.

Navy ID - Mammoth

Xeno ID - Pirate Train

Conflicts with this rule:

Quote:3.3 Aggressors are not allowed to issue further demands during the same encounter after the trade vessel has complied, or destroy a trade vessel prior to issuing a demand, in system or local chat, and allowing sufficient time to respond. "Halt" on its own is not a demand, however, a trade vessel can be destroyed if they refuse to stop after being asked to in the form of a proper demand.

Certain IDs allow you to treat transports as combat targets under certain conditions. The Freelancer and Reaver ID can do so while looking to collect a valid bounty contract on a transport, and I believe the same is true of UC and BHG.

OK, just to clarify, the Freelancer must be hostile to the IFF/ID the transport is affiliated with, correct?

And I'll be doing this with a Rogue/Hacker ID, so I guess I'll need to come up with some creative demands before I destroy say a Xeno PTrans? Bear in mind the transport is probably NPC cargo pirating/pirating other players. So that classes as a combat ship correct?

As for the first part - no. If you are collecting an assassination bounty there is no hostility requirement what-so-ever.

As far as I remember NPC piracy doesn't make you a combat target.

To claim a blanket bounty regardless of ID, the ship being used to collect the bounty must be hostile to the faction targeted, unless they are generic IDed (and also must be neutral to their employer).
As Pancakes said, you do not need to be hostile to your target if it is an individual bounty but you must still be at least neutral to your employer.

The demands don't need to be particularly creative if you are on a Rogue ID (2milrdai works as always), but given they don't have that line from the FL ID they can only claim bounties that their ID would allow them to collect anyway.
Technically you could use a Pirate ID and simply demand the price on your target's head but you'll obviously be restricted from lawful bounties by your rephacks.
