Greetings,

I'm an independent IMG miner, and I'm sending this communiqué in order to clear up a little misunderstanding. You see, I was flying my Arrastra Oortcloud through New Tokyo, and was escorting a client of mine to Colorado, when he was fired upon by your station's automated defense platforms. It was sudden and unexpected, as he is a young freelancer in Civilian Transport. He made no aggressive gestures of any kind towards the station. The transport ship ice.cold barely managed to make it to Roppongi Station. Now I must admit in order to secure his safe launch from the station, I fired a few shots at one of your weapons platforms and drew their fire long enough for him to escape. Unfortunately, I will be forced to take this drastic measure in the future if the station's hostile stance does not change. We are law abiding citizens and hope not to be treated as criminals or terrorists. I'm willing to compensate for whatever damage or resources exhausted in this action, if we could be cleared by the station's security system.

Regards,

Captain Alamo

Good morning Captain Alamo.
I am sorry to hear you had trouble with regards to Itabashi Station and it's defense system meant to safe guard the lives of Kusari citizens.
It is not Samura Heavy Industries' intention to cause any trouble or hindrance to law abiding businessmen conducting their business within Kusari.
Samura will not be seeking compensation from you at his time for your weapons fire upon Itabashi Station but if such unprovoked attacks continue in the future we will have no option but to protect ourselves from further assault using all means legally available to us.

Now let's look at your friend "ice.cold".
Samura hear by requests a copy of his transponder codes to identify the problem that exists and prevent any further issues from arising in the future.
It is our technicians belief that he entered Kusari while having a hostile relation towards the largest mercantile operation active within Kusari and indeed Sirius.
This has us slightly puzzled as Samura is a legal entity tied in with the government in many ways and it would be very difficult for your friend to have friendly relations with Kusari and not Samura unless he has committed previous crimes against our corporation.

With this being the case, we wish to make amends and will be forwarding a small sum of one million credits ($1,000,000) to his account so he may make the necessary changes to his transponder to avoid similar circumstances.

For your part in this Captain, I would suggest in future, now you know about Itabashi, to make sure your business partners are aware of the risks.
It is a small matter to make the appropriate modifications to allow any and all legal vessels to achieved safe travel past Itabashi and this can be done at many facilities before approaching the station from any direction.

There is Planet Kyushu or indeed Shinjuku Station if you are coming from the galactic west.
From the east there is Osaka Storage Facility, Yokohama will solve these issues if traveling from the north.
Planet Junyo has facilities for this if heading up from the south.
If all this is not enough Planet New Tokyo right next to Itabashi is also able to solve any problems that might arise from any transponder issues.

A detailed investigation is currently being carried out on Itabashi's defense system during it's repurpose operation and when this is complete the defense system may go through some changes.

I believe this has addressed all the issues you have brought up.
As always do not hesitate to contact Samura Heavy Industries if you have any further inquiries.

Benton H. Price

Hello Mr. Price,

I appreciate your timely reply on this matter. I certainly understand having security measures and your right to defend your installations. I will request he forward those codes to you, and am sure your payment is sufficient to fix his end on this. It is my belief his reputation with Samura is not due to any direct role against you. You have my assurance we'll take precautions when moving through New Tokyo from now on. I thank you for your information, and again, appreciate you taking this matter seriously enough to spur an internal review. I have no intent to attack the station again, and certainly not since we now know to avoid it altogether if absolutely necessary. Please keep in mind I did this out of the belief it was necessary to defend my trader, while inflicting superficial damage to do so. I do not wish to tell anyone how to run their operations, but in a well defended commmerical area, perhaps if that system was programmed only to fire upon ships that take direct hostile action on the station, this scenario can be avoided in the future.

Regards,

Captain Alamo

Good morning Captain Alamo.
Think nothing of the reply as it is our goal to help legal economic activities that strengthen the Kusari economy.
We have transferred the funds to the vessel designated "ice.cold" and he should find the transfer directly from Samura|-Itabashi in his regular financial institution's account statements.

About your input into Itabashi Station's defense system, I assure you we are looking into it and this option is one of many that is being considered.
We can assure you we are looking into every option available to us and have nothing but the well being of Kusari in mind.

If you have any further matters do discuss, please do not hesitate to contact us.
