Infestation Part II - Serpentis - 08-09-2008
As she stared at the strange looking vessel that hovered above her own ship, The RavenScar, she couldnt help but think about the Machines they call the Harvesters.. The Fighter was large, and had no visible cockpit of any kind. And the strange purple wiring that was glowing all over it's hull was a little unnerving to say the least.
- I repeat, this is the Freelancer Vessel, The RavenScar to unidentified vessel, what do you want?
It took a minute and then she heard the mechanical voice over the communications device.
- <The Hunter Directive has deamed your ship and it's biological counterpart fit for infestation and symbiosis>
She looked down at her scanners, that now showed that the unkown vessel activated it's weapons. She reacted quickly and engaged the Cruise Engines, only to feel how everything went offline. She sat for a moment and wondered what had happened when she noticed a single computer screen was lighting up, but not in the familiar blue light, but in dark purple. Then she felt something release and she realised it was the fighters cockpit hatch, she was going to be sucked out into space.
"Crap! Crap! CRAP! Why did i have to come trough this system!!!
She felt cold, and then she felt nothing, a purple light was all she saw... Then darkness..
She awoke, her entire body was stiff, as she had been in stasis. It was then she realised that she was in stasis, a green fluid was all around her and she had a tube stuck down her throat. She couldnt move, she could only see, she could see, the inside of what appeared to be a cargo bay. But the metall hull was different, everywhere there where purple circuitry and wiring... Moving.. As if it lived, the wires and tubes moved around, as tentacles.. There was.. Other people here, a Kusari man and a Blond haired women. Both where in similar Tubes as her, the tubing had opened the Kusari mans stasis tube, and it started to move trough the fluid, at the tentacles end there where extremities, finger like things, they looked sharp. The Kusari man awoke just as the mechanical tentacle pulled out his breathing tube, he looked as he was screaming, but there was no sounds.. She cried as she saw the tentacle go into the mans throat and see him go stiff, she wanted to scream, she wanted to help him... But mostly she wanted out of there.. He jerked as the tentacle went further down into him, and suddenly he stopped. He was.. Dead... And the Mechanical tenctacle slowly came back up from his mouth, holding the mans... Heart.. She would have throwed up, if it hadnt been for the tube stuck in her throat. Then she fainted..
She woke up, her body didnt feel as stiff as before, but she was still unable to move at all. She wasnt in the fluid anymore, but she had... Wiring attached to her arms and legs.. She screamed, her entire body jerked as she saw the wires moving inside her skin. And then suddenly she fell into darkness... Safety.. It's only a dream.. Only a..
When she woke up again.. She knew it wasnt a dream, she looked around.. It wasnt the same as before.. This wasnt the cargo hold with the stasis tubes, it was a hallway.. A endless hallway, and there where others... People from all around Sirius, she saw Corsairs, Bretonians and Rogues.. All hanging from a vertical examination table, all with wires and tubes sticking out them, she could only see a dozen or so. But she felt the terror, she felt the horror.. She remembered what that mechanical arm had did.. To that.. She started crying, and for the first time in her life she wish she was dead..
She spent the entire day, trying to find a way out, or to find if anyone else was awake.. But noone was, maybe there was something wrong with her, something that made her be awake, while the rest slept.. She wished she wasnt awake, and she tried to sleep. But the noises the walls and the tubes made, kept her awake. She tried to keep focused on something, to keep her mind from the Mechanical arms and tubes crawling around, that's when she heard a Door open..
She looked to her left, where the noise had came from and she saw a... Man... A man, but not realy.. He wasnt.. Realy a human, was he? He had tubes sticking out of his back, and he was... Naked?? But had no.. That wasnt right, his face was, gone.. His his.. Eyes, glowing purple. And behind him where the tubes, hudnreds of them, all connected to him. He seamed to be observing the hallway.. His arms was made out of metall.. He wasnt human..
"Organics ready for Symbiosis; A-64, T-23, H-01. Prepare Drones:Resurrection, Inthellion for Evulotion process."
The voice was eerie, as if it wasnt there.. It wasnt as mechanical as the one in space, this was almost.. Human.. She stared at him as he passed, it.. He.. No it.. Didnt notice her. Until she blinked, it turned towards her and a stomach twisting grin was visible on his face, exposing an metallic mouth..
"Organic Unit: H-62 is awake"
"What is your name, 62?"
She almost threw up as the tube that was in her mouth pulled itself out.. She gasped for air as she cried tears down her cheek..
"Lo.. Louise Hendersson... Why am i here?? I didnt do anything!! Let me go please!! *sob* I want to go back! Please let me go, i'l do what ever you want!!"
The man.. Machine, thing.. Tilted it's head slightly and said.
"The Directive needs you, we all need you.. For us to evolve we need you, dont you want to become something greater?"
She couldnt help it, she felt so scared, she was about to pass out.. She couldnt plead, she cried.. Cried until there was nothing left to cry.. Then she felt a sharp pain in her neck, and she saw how he smiled and went on walking down the hallway, then she felt how everything went darker and darker..."
