The office was its usual cheery self as Denny Crane swung back the ostentatious gilt glass doors at Crane Fukutomi & O’Schmidt’s offices on Denver. Alert as ever Denny’s PA, miss Uhu Rah, was on her feet and bringing him his reports before he had even started to hit on anyone. “Here are the valuations you requested Mr Crane.” She quickly got in before Denny’s mind turned to her body. Thrusting a document wallet into his outstretched hand before he could grab her, she turned and ushered Denny toward the accountancy section. “Mr. B’stard has set aside his morning to deal with your affairs Sir” she chimed as she gently outpaced Denny along the corridor. Leaving Denny there she almost got away. But her back-step was too slow and he left her with a bruise that would keep her sitting on cushions for a week. He’d had his fun, now to business and a fine scotch.
“Go on then Robin tell me what I’m worth” Crane almost gleefully enquired as he spread his body into the plush chair, ash dropping from his fat cigar as he swung to face his best paid employee. Cautious as ever Mr. B’Stard took out a pen and wrote the figure down. “I think congratulations are in order for unloading USI when you did Mr. Crane. They took quite a tumble once the press found out.” Crane stared a moment then refocused his mind (trouble was zeros reminded him of something, a lot of zeros reminded him even more). “Pleasing, yeah, pleasing” Denny almost purred. Then he ripped open the valuations wallet seal and pulled out the sheet listing his physical assets that had come with him from USI.

Not as much as he had hoped but still more than adequate to power a strategic career move. The question was which way to move. He would definitely pursue John Doe’s offer if he came through with the details. Also as these are risky times, some diversity would be wise. He wondered what other executive positions may be available within Liberty and Bretonia. As its price reduced a re-investment in USI would even be a sensible strategy, given more suitable management, though a executive position there would probably be untenable. Looking up at Mr. B’Stard Crane announced “Okay then lets work on my strategy while I get Uhu to scan for vacant positions. More scotch ? …”

Meanwhile back at her console and sat on a wobbly pile of cushions, miss Rah sends the following communiqué to all Liberty and Bretonian corporations.
