Failed Roleplay - Enko - 08-09-2008 I just tried having a virus in my AI ship attacking the sensor array in New York, basically what it does is it prevents the normal AI system from booting (The one thats normally on) and the backup survival system goes on, and this detected a Liberty NPC fleet as a nomad fleet inbound for Manhatten, this occoured from a sensor glitch taken on from the AI before evaluation what would happen if the Keeper intrusion on Liberty Space. Now I started this by having general errors, initiating battlestations and reporting nomad fleets inbount for Manhatten, then after a while as everyone was aparently ignoring it I moved on and went to the attack stage (as you would if it was real). I attacked the NPC Dreadnought seeing as randomly attacking someone else would just reach an arguement, so I went hostile with the Navy and had the fleet attacking me near manhatten. Dispite stating errors detected in scans, and having a lengthy perioud with engines off (Pressed Z) and drifting away from the combat zone I still had all guns firing on me, and then there was this tiny perioid where everyone stopped shooting, then it all started again. Even after having several verbal warnings about what was going on, and having obvious malfunctions on the ship. Just a thought but is everyone so triggerhappy these days, they see an oppertunity to blast something and take it? I've been in Liberty Space for almost a week now, met almost every single LSF LN or LPI players out there, yet nobody thought it was a bit odd that one moment im assisting in the defence with LN against nomads, never having hostilities towards the Navy before, then suddenly ranting on about more nomads and doing the same, with errors occouring at the same time? Am I overracting on this? Im not concerned about the fact I was destroyed or the fact that I cant go in NY for 4 hours (I do have other characters and games, seriously) but its the fact that all the words I got from them was "Engadging". Not a peep of anything else. Well mate, alot of the players in Disco tries to find a reason to shoot you down, alot of PvPers out there, not to mention new players that get a Navy ID. Anyhow there can also be the possibility that neither of the Navy or Police cares of your Ship and it's AI. I mean there is alot of AI characters around (I should know:)) Anyhow, dont take it personal.. Failed Roleplay - Enko - 08-09-2008 The ship has had good relations with the Navy in the past, aswell as activley assisting in Defence and other things for the Navy. Failed Roleplay - Spear - 08-09-2008 Not only did you have Nomad turrets abord but when you undocked from Manhattan you started shooting NPC Dreadnought fleet, I called for assist and engaged, we all saw your messages. It maybe your RP to simulate an error in code and attack Navy in full view of me but it's my RP to attack and destroy all enemies of Liberty. I couldnt help but notice after your ship was destroyed that you went to Norfolk shipyard and parked there for 30 mins, perhaps your tremendous RP makes you immune to the server rules? Must be nice for you.. Quote:5.7 A player who was killed in a PvP fight must not enter the system where the fight took place with any of the characters on his/her account(s) while the enemy (player or players involved in the fight) remains in the system, but no more than 4 hours. Failed Roleplay - tfmachad - 08-09-2008 All I can say is this: If you want to try a too fancy RP the better thing is to give a heads up to the people you want to involve in it. You don't have to spoil the whole thing, but just politely ask: "//Hey, I want to do something different in terms of RP. Would you like to play along?" If they say yes, it means that they'll pay more attention to where you're going. To be honest with you, New York is not the best place to try this. There's too much chatter there most of the time, people tend to ignore it some. I know my attention is selective there. I just notice things when either people are talking to me directly or there's some kind of warning. Chances are your RPing was largely ignored. Not out of rudeness, but it got lost along the rest of the communications. So, next time try contacting the leading person and talk to them. They'll be able to keep the rest of his pilots at bay while you go about your story. Not only that, if you're going about powerplaying (changing the interpretation of game events for other people) you will need their consent. Failed Roleplay - Magoo! - 08-09-2008 Mmm... Yes. Welcome to New York. Failed Roleplay - teschy - 08-09-2008 Seriously, what did you expect from the Navy ? "Captain! Our Dreadnaught is being torn apart" "Nothing we can do about it Sergeant, it's not the AI's fault, it's the virus" ... Failed Roleplay - Enko - 08-09-2008 The nomad turrets on it are Liscenced, again I have had this with many navy characters who roll in and are prepared to blast me because I have those turrets, however most of the time ive been lucky enough to have other people to back me up (Such as Valance). Also I undocked from manhatten and shot the dreadnought to get them to rengadge me after the crash, as I was already in a fight with them before the crash, then I resumed talking about it before I opened fire on the dreadnought again. I don't know if you were there or not before the crash as the crash sent everyone back to their last docked positions, but before the crash I had a good 5 mins of text before I event moved my ship. I also had an emergency shutdown of the ship as it drifted away from the dreadnoughts, I brought the dreadnought down to about 1/8th health then drifted off, while taking fire untill I got to about half hull strength, then I rebooted and opened fire again this time on the players attacking me, about 80% of the fight I wasn't actually shooting, in the end I just gave up seeing as you didn't stop firing. And my ship was in Norfolk for reconstruction, and I was AFK during the time, I went back to Norfolk as the next time I logged the character, she would be repaired from Norfolk base, so it only sees fit to start from one of the Bays. I went afk as I took the oppertunity to do some work, I have done it before and nobody else has had a problem with it, as the ship was stuck in Norfolk and not able to do anything. Failed Roleplay - MB52 - 08-09-2008 Listen, if you are authorized to enter Z21, my Dreadnought would be more then willing to RP with you in Z-21, though I'm not completely sure what your RP is. Do you have a story/bio I can read? Is your AI a navy program? What kinda ship does it fly? Whats your ZOI?... etc. Failed Roleplay - Enko - 08-09-2008 Z21? I went no where near Z21. And the Story and Bio are still being flattened out, but I am writing it. Most of the material is going to John Talon and I suppose he will relay it how he sees fit but Il also do a public one. |
