My name is Diana, I'm not a native English speaker but I'm always trying to do my best. So, I'll post the purpose of this thread, in the simplest way: we are 3 people (actually 4, but one is not yet convinced), all former LTS members (a small group of traders in RP) and we want to regroup the OS&C faction.

Now, in order to avoid confusions, I will mention that I am referring to the original OS&C faction and not to any other group or subsidiary with OS&C ID/IFF. The reasons are simple.

• we noticed that OS&C faction is inactive from the beginning of the last year.
  
• we believe that this faction could have a huge (RP) potential.
  
• can be a good way of relaxation for those billionaires who are bored by pvp (like me).
  

During last week, I gathered all the information possible about the history of this faction. Unfortunately, it seems that all those involved have quit or are no longer active:
- Orbital Spa & Cruise HQ (last visit: 06-26-2012)
- daviswilliams (last visit: 04-17-2013)
- Gentlefood (last visit: 12-15-2013)
- escopton (last visit: 07-22-2012)
* there may be more...
Anyway, I saw that Hone & Zynth are still around, but I'm not convinced if they are still part of this faction, judging by the fact that last three (01-28-2014 | 12-05-2013 | 11-25-2013) communications to OS&C have received no replies from their representatives. They will be invited (via pm) to take a look over this thread and I would like to know if are still interested to revive this faction.

Yes, I know that all info related to the OS&C faction (player group) are outdated and there is no wiki page, but I will find a way to make all this work, with support from an angel (and I prefer a certain one with advanced english skills and from my country, since communicating will be easier - this is planned for later).

So.. before our endeavour in this regard, I thought that could be useful to get some advices from those who have more experience than us, but also to see the public perception about this initiative.

At first, I never thought that here are still persons that could be interested by the idea to revive this faction. I want to thank you all (Laura C., Melanie Tyler, Pavel, Jason Williams, Nightingale) and especially to Zynth for ... let's say... his huge summary regarding the faction past. Is extremely useful because, basically, in contrast with all other factions, Orbital Spa and Cruise does NOT have a past, in the true sense of the word, neither on wiki.

My intention was that, first, to make a kind of survey. The poll is available for 30 days, enough time to see the public perception about this initiative. But in the meantime, I realized that this attempt, if it will be put into practice, definitely will not be an easy task, due to several reasons.

After deep diggings, dozens of posts analyzed and hours of discussions with my friends, we decided to follow the advice given by Laura and... as she said, "if you and some other people are interested in this faction, go for it.". I would like to mention a very important aspect: this faction will never be focused on pvp mainly or mega-power trading and I know that could be seen as a disadvantage in attracting new members. However, we have a lot of ideas about how can do this, combining RP's with the pleasure to fly ingame with all those unique luxury liners.

Now, about RP... our vision is to make people feel good through services we provide every day, to improve relationships with all lawful corporations and authorities from those four houses where OS&C is allowed to operate, to be perceived in space as those captains of vessels, dressed very elegantly, showing a big smile on their face and trying to hide illegal commodities crammed in their cargo somewhere among the passengers and tourists, to be recognised as the main (if not the only) provider of leisure services and so on... We intend to exploit every opportunity that may lead to collaborations with factions like Hogosha or Corsairs, but we will never officially admit this in front of the lawful authorities, because, of course, we don't want to compromise our company's image. A revival of this faction can increase piracy acts and this is a good thing because can involve also hiring of freelancer, in order to protect our luxury liners, in those independent systems where local authorities usually are not present. These are just a few positive aspects but there are many other opportunities that have not been exploited enough in past.

But the main problem remain the same: the lack of a real motivation for players to become part of this apparently boring faction. Yesterday, I did an experiment, from the perspective of a new OS&C member. Let's suppose that I have a luxury liner and I intend to fit into the role required by the possession of such vessel. I tried to see what routes I could have if I will carry only passengers, tourists, vacantioners, VIP's etc... Unfortunately, the options are few and clearly, is not a profitable business for those who are interested to earn tons of credits in short time. At this point, our dev's/admins forgot about OS&C faction. I've seen many proposals made ​​in this regard so far, but without being materialized. Anyway, we will begin with what we have. We will find other ways to attract new members and already started a project regarding a different employment policy, with things that will offer another kind of satisfaction to those who wish to join us in the future (some custom missions, an internal promotion system, maybe... opportunity to get free vessels and others). In fact, our activity will be focused more on RP and less on mega-power trading and most of our actions will be based on the initiatives previously undertaken into Neural Net (in RP).

I studied carefully what mistakes were made so far, when others have tried harder to make things work and failed. Zynth explained me some of them and will be treated like a lesson. The idea to have 4 divisions (one for each house where we operate) was a very ambitious plan but it was a failure, due to the manpower lack. As a certainty, at beginning, it is not desired a complicated structure. Are more than enough:
- 3 (or 4) members in the company's management team (example: CEO - can act also as Chairman an the rest - members of the Board);
- 2 divisions (can be extended at 3 later): transportation (luxury liners - for human cargo | freighters and transports - for commodities like: luxury consumer goods, food, drinks etc.) and security (based mostly on fighters and only a few gunboats);

Also, Zynth told me about a stupid decision to refuse a business relationship with corporations from Gallia. Again, in our vision, although we have origins in Liberty, we are more like a independent corporation. Our headquarters is located in an independent system and our ID mention that "Orbital Spa and Cruise is an independent corporation focusing on passenger transport and luxury resorts for the rich and famous...". Of course, we are still a Liberty corporation. But the only one that is allowed to provide its services in Rheinland and Liberty. Anyway, I found many inaccuracies about OS&C and definitely, these should be rectified in future Disco' updated but as I said before, we will begin with what we have.

I'm not going to write pages of complains detailing every little aspect, because it would be even more boring... so, here's our plan. We made a list of tasks that me and my friends agreed that must to be done (and sure, can be adjusted as needed, later). This is only a brief summary:

* listing in unofficial player groups // done
* listing in Sirius timeline // done
* player group page // created but still in progress

Forum
* an official forum account // done (is Orbital Spa and Cruise and can be shared between leaders)
* basic threads planned: faction information (a plenty of work), feedback (ooRP), recruitment (with an internal and attractive employment policy) and an internal channel for OS&C members (later - one for external contracts, communications with other corporations etc.) // in progress
* a kind of template for all OS&C representatives - in Neural Net communications; // in progress
* of course, a personalised emblem; // almost done;

In game
* a protected tag // done - is OS&C|;
* a minimum of vessels for each division (3-4 liners, 3-4 transports and 2-3 vhf and maybe 1 gunboat)// almost done;
* a convention for vessels names (having only 2 divisions, we thought that those vessels from the Transportation division could use some fancy names inspired by names of the luxury and cruise ships from the real world, example: OS&C|Fortuna or OS&C|Ventura blabla... - I already made a list of around 100 names - and... vessels from the Security division may use the name of their characters, example: OS&C|Susan.Miller or OS&C|Melanie.Tyler etc...); // in progress

Others
* skype room // done (personally, I do not like skype due to lack of time but... heh... if this is the trend...)

After completing these basic tasks, will follow others (will be determined later by the management team). Now, I really believe that Pavel (with his magic powers )or Zynth should be the CEO and Melanie could be the Chief Security Officer or any other position responsible for the security. About me... I don't know. I would prefer to be a kind of COO (Chief Operations Officer) having more practical experience in trading, but anyway... all management team (CEO and the Board of Directors members should be shareholders with equal parts).

We expect that until Monday to finish and post a basic form of all those threads in the "Unofficial Factions and Groups" sections and further discussions will be held in the "Feedback" channel. So please, if any of you is interested to take part in our endeavour, hit us here. And of course, we really appreciate any (constructive) suggestion, idea etc...
