While I normally brush police activity aside as nuisance that does keep our activities rather safe, I received some records from the Division’s Vice-President regarding a particularly disturbing incident. Whilst transporting a shipment of armaments, goods necessary for the defense of Liberty and her allies, Mr. Mortlock was stopped for a routine scan and improperly accused of rather incongruous activities and addressed as “hostile.” Not only did this officer, Charles Luther, demonstrate a complete lack of knowledge of the law he is charged to enforce, but he seemed to revel in throwing false accusations. After a brief review, it is clear that the transport of armaments to Kusari is neither contrary to the current embargo imposed by the Republic nor against her domestic laws. If this has indeed changed, I request a formal opinion of their status to update our records and assure compliance within the Division.

However, given the response of another attending officer, Zeeroi Talbot, who fortunately intervened without properly reprimanding his comrade, I have no evidence from which to conclude that there was anything illegal about Mr. Mortlock’s activities. The Liberty Police is a private entity entrusted with the duty of enforcing the Republic’s laws. I am very familiar with corporate shells and how to pierce them. I sincerely hope we can trust your corporation to abide by the laws it enforces to avoid any further issues.


We simply ask that the Liberty Police publicly recognize this mistake and assure the people and businesses of Liberty that such mistakes will not be tolerated.
