Dear Commander Matok

Greetings and Salutations my good sir.
I would like to converse with you on the topic of the Confederation of Freeports and whether or not I would be able to convince you to partake in this endeavor.
First a little background, the Confederation started when me and the then administrator of Freeport 1 Ashley Brookes got together and realised that the majority of Freeports didn't have a centralised set of rules governing the No-Fire-Zones, this unfortunately lead to confusion among visitors as to what was and what was allowed.

We drafted a set of rules for the No-Fire-Zone and set about contacting local Freeport administrators to see if they would also like to get onboard. Now so far down the track we have the majority of unaligned Freeports as members of our little council and benefit from a standardised set of rules and consequences so that nobody can claim ignorance of one particular Freeport's No-Fire-Zone.

I would like to know if you would be willing to join us in our jolly co-operation?

Regards
James Church
Administrator Freeport XV
Head Administrator Confederation of Freeports

Neg'neh, Mr. Church,

I am honored by your inquiry. This is not the first time the Federation of Freeports has approached me. As with then, I am still reluctant to consider joining. We are a small, low budget operation here with passing traders with our biggest problem only being the occasional unruly bounty hunter. And not that it has been a problem yet but our watch here is the struggle between Kusari, Gallia and Bretonia laying claim on this system, designating my base as a neutral zone.

But my real concern is this. I remember the days when the Zoners tried to make a central body. The old Council of Zoners and the Zoner Alliance. They were good in theory but all Zoners wound up being judged and punished for the actions of a few. Also, my staff here like the individuality that we have as a station. I am growing old and do not wish conflict if I can avoid it.

I will not say no but I will say that I will think this over. If you wish to chat with me in person, I will meet you on station.

Regards,
Commander Matok
Freeport 6 Administrator

Dear Commander Matok

I think you are mistaken my good sir. This is not an attempt to create a centralised administrative body for the general Zoner populace. It is merely an attempt to get a standardised set of rules for Freeports to prevent confusion. There is also the fact that it's nice to have fellow Freeport admins to consult with if a problem does arise, after all, many minds make light work.

We are also not in the business of starting conflicts. We are entirely devoted to finding peaceful solutions to any problems that may arise.

I would urge you to reconsider. Unfortunately it may not be possible for me to meet you in person. I am only very rarely in that segment of Sirius and my internal clock is set to that of Freeport XV which means that when I am normally around when you are asleep.

Regards
James Church

You are persistent. I will tell you what, I will think this over for a few days and discuss it with some of my people.

With respect,
Commander Matok
