Optimizing a light fighter - Scribbley - 03-08-2014 It seems the light fighter class is nearly nonexistent in terms of player use. I am interested in setting one up, but have run into difficulties and am looking advice and guidance. I originally had an Arrow, but found it could not take the highest quality tier of LF shields. So I took a look at the Tiger Shark, and found exactly the same. Before I slowly bleed any more credits, is there some way I am supposed to be able to tell which LFs can actually support the highest tier of shields? Also, thoughts on weapons loadouts? I think I'd prefer max damage output with slower fire rate, as I spend way too much time maneuvering to make use of rapid fire. RE: Optimizing a light fighter - Thexare - 03-08-2014 No LFs get class 10 shields. RE: Optimizing a light fighter - Scribbley - 03-08-2014 Why is there a tier of "Advanced LF Champion/Barrier/Brigadine shields"? Which LFs can equip class 9 shields, because the two ships I looked at couldn't do that either. RE: Optimizing a light fighter - nOmnomnOm - 03-08-2014 LF i find are awesome at hitting at with slow, high powered guns. Although if u look at the LN's LF those things are a real threat with fast fire. It depends i guess on the gun slots. Im trying to bring LFs back myself, getting more use for them and getting them a bit more attention. They aren't the most powerful but really can be a lot of fun. Try the Scimitar? That one is really cool too. RE: Optimizing a light fighter - Thexare - 03-09-2014 (03-08-2014, 10:19 PM)Scribbley Wrote: Why is there a tier of "Advanced LF Champion/Barrier/Brigadine shields"? Maybe the Nomad LF, but no human LFs. 8's the cap for them. To your first question, I have no idea. RE: Optimizing a light fighter - Scribbley - 03-09-2014 I mean, if no LF can take the highest tier LF shields, they probably should be removed. I sort of wonder if it is an oversight that they are that high of class if LF's can't even take that class. Who is going to put a LF shield on to a VHF? RE: Optimizing a light fighter - nOmnomnOm - 03-10-2014 LF are special. They go the fastest and are most agile. Some people like that and because you are hard to hit you dont need a huge shield. RE: Optimizing a light fighter - Scribbley - 03-10-2014 Right, but there are LF shields that no LF can mount. That is weird. RE: Optimizing a light fighter - |nfrared - 03-10-2014 This thread has inspired me to make a LF and see how far I can get with it in the harshness of current-day Sirius. Thanks!
