Weird idea of making Disco a lil more realistic - SnakeLancerHaven - 04-07-2014

Right, I once was talking about a realistic system with you know getting your char removed when its beeing killed, so it'd be killed in real and inRP. But I think that was a little too harsh for people to accept so I've came up with a solution:

I have seen this on other mods and freelancer has this tool inside it. When a person gets killed by a player (not NPC) it automaticly looses a small portion of its money (example: under 1 mil, maybe 500k or so) which automaticly transfers the amount to the Player who killed him. So basicly you are kinda paying for a "new ship" (of course its not the same price).


What do you think? It'd realy give a nice feeling of the Character, you know loosing 500k ain't that much to be honest, it's like a reconstruction money for your ship Tongue

It'd be like you'd be reconstructing your ship all the time you die by paying that amount, would be a realy nice RP content of actually "loosing" a ship (you don't realy loose it though, but pay for a reconstruction, which is only around 500k or so).

Shoot your ideas.

Better not. People came to play FL for a FL style game.

Also, I misread your first paragraph and thought you were suggesting hooking us up to the PC, so when our character died, we'd die for real. Hueh.

Isn't it a bit complicated ? Although it shows "realness" but it would be too hard to follow because basically you have to change the style of play which will affect masses in here

It wouldn't make it complicated, there is nothing hard to follow in this imo. When you get killed it'd give you a small message like "Ship Reconstructed: 530 812 SC payed" or something. Y'know it'd be at least something Tongue

Hell yes, we deffinately need a way to send n00bs, newbs and all sorts of undesired by some players to oblivion, not to mention reducing overall willingness of entire playerbase (with few pvp gifted individuals as an exception) to actually fly farther than 5k from their planet/static battleship. There are already enough people who do anything in order to not lose a fight. This will just make people more dire, bitter and would further discourage people from playing here. (From both ends, really).

This is what I meant about the complicated part. There will lot of abuses, rules broken and people with poor connectivity will suffer.
