EA has confirmed that it is transitioning servers so that some games will remain playable after GameSpy's multiplayer services shut down after May 31.
Though the company didn't announce a complete line-up or promise that every game will make the transition, it did commit to three Battlefield games in particular: Battlefield 2, Bad Company 2, and Battlefield 2142.

A lot of the games i play, namely Civ and AoE have support from gameranger, so that's a good alternative
