Freeport 7 - Defend The Construction - Zen_Mechanics - 04-30-2014 Just had a fun idea of creating activity to official zoner / bad guy factions and allow them to rp and pew at the same time. The idea as follows Freeport 7 is rumored to be re constructed at the same spot, in reality and for this event, a Zoner nephilim will act as the freeport in its early stage. It will be equipped with an admin shield ( granted the admins approve this ) to provide immunity to it until the battle has ended and one of two things may happen, if the allied forces lose - the nephilim will manually disable the shields to allow the aggressive force to take it out. In case of victory, a bunch of angry za Zoners will build a core 2 station and within two weeks there will be another attempt ( event ) of trying to destroy it. A few points , Because the devs will not add new stations and only convert existing ones, it wouldn't be fair to take one existing installation for this, which is why player owned bases are a good way of fixing this issue. The end goal is to completely build the freeport ( core 5 ) - should the events happen to allow such a thing. This is not exclusively a Zoner event. Factions that I think should participate Keepers ( or khara - though keepers from my read are by far better candidates, but they no longer exist ). Wilde - these human oil slicks.. The Order - no question. GMG - its somewhat a turf of GMG Zoners - all three factions. We-shoot-zoners-4free - won't spoil the fun. Feed away while I discuss things with higher beings. RE: Freeport 7 - Defend The Construction - t0l - 04-30-2014 The only reason why FP7 was destroyed was because the nomad arty was onboard. Just rebuild it. RE: Freeport 7 - Defend The Construction - Zen_Mechanics - 04-30-2014 Edit ; seems I can't edit the thread with the new ( crappy s5 ) - I'll add a few more points and further information once I'm home. Should the community approve this idea RE: Freeport 7 - Defend The Construction - moebus - 04-30-2014 Hi, interesting event. If I remember correctly, some zoners are against the reconstruction of Freeport 7 on the same site. There was an attempt to rebuild FP7 one or two years ago and it failed at least partially because some zoners were strongly opposed to it. So maybe you could allow zoners to take position for or against it. Also, Cryers and Samura could be concerned by the event since they have bases in Sigma 17. The rebuild of FP7 could have consequences on their business: For instance: good consequence: new partner for business bad consequence: FP7 could host pirates that would affect corporation activities RE: Freeport 7 - Defend The Construction - Zen_Mechanics - 04-30-2014 Good point that I did not think about ( though with samuras case i did - sairs are okay with em ) - And yes its mandatory for the official factions to approve this, so its really up to them. RE: Freeport 7 - Defend The Construction - Tunicle - 04-30-2014 Points in this you may wish to consider http://discoverygc.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=108574&highlight=freeport+7 RE: Freeport 7 - Defend The Construction - Acolyte - 04-30-2014 I like this idea. I think the server and its members are too stuck in their ways of wanting absolutely nothing to change. Simply because it didn't start as a Zoner station (i.e. Abandonment and re-occupation theory) doesn't mean it can't be rebuilt as a Zoner station. Or, in fact, by anybody. The station was obviously an important one before the Nomad War, thus there is a vacuum and niche to fill. If the community objects to constructing it as a Zoner station, I'm sure we can find another faction that will be more of a crowd-pleaser with just as much reason to do so. Note: My criticisms lie mostly with the community as it stood last year with the discussions held within the link Tunicle posted. |
