Managing RL and FL - Sath - 05-24-2014

So, I tried to keep myself away from FL for the second time, without any success. So that I can concentrate more on things away from "screens" in general. But looking on the side of RL too, I feel like missing out on many things.

I tried to devise some time schedule so that I dont end up too much time sitting in front of my lappy but that too seems useless after 2 or 3 days. So, what does the others do? Like to keep this madness under control. I tried demotivating myself to large extents so that I never come back here :| That too didnt work. I even stare at the forums when there is nothing interesting going on or new posts coming up.

So, what is your way to manage RL and FL/whatever that comes in front of the screen in a way that you dont end up wasting so much time for this game, but at the same time have fun whenever possible here. This is one of those time intensive games, concentrating both on the forum as well as gametime. Feel free to throw in your ideas/time schedules/opinions/ whatever.

It's easy to manage RL and FL.

Real life comes first, always. Like... hang out with friends (if they're free), etc...

Then Freelancer.

That's my priority.

And if I feel playing FL isn't fun anymore. I simply play other games for a couple of hours.

Also, I tend to stay away from all that Disco drama or whatever all the fuss is about.

In the end, I still come back to play this awesome game. There's always something new to discover.

Well, anyway, that's my opinion.

I generally get burned out on it every few months and disappear for awhile. Too much of anything will do that.

everyone's situation is different. one thing for sure.. is if your interest lies here its going to be awfully hard to convince yourself to do anything else.

Real life has its priorities. But for everything else you can schedule it all out.

Try studying math/science.

Buy a new laptop and try out new awesome games. You will be spellbound & that would mean, you will be playing those instead of FL Big Grin !!!

P.S. On a serious note, you won't be knowing the consequences of excess FL, untill once you get a "degraded" SGPA in one semester. Once done, Self realisation will come and you would definitely start managing all by yourselves.

don't think I can help much in the way of advice apart from running a PoB but immediate family with 50% chance of survival has basically left me putting FL to one side mostly.
