sad really. cut back on the material quality, the ethical manufacturing, the compensation of inventors, the high profit margin, the minimum wage for the workers, the tax, the aesthetic requirements etc and you just might actually be able to do it.
And no, its not the same as space elevators or death stars because unlike those two things, this is something that we could actually need and make a bit of a difference if successful.
Also, it sucks that they're wasting money on souvenirs for backers instead of dedicating it 100% to the deployment of those things.

I like how you pessimistic little children are forgetting just how many parking lots there are in commercial areas, and how often they're left even PARTIALLY empty.
A wal-mart parking lot filled with these would make an obscene amount of energy (enough to power the store alone), even if most of the lot was filled with cars.
These guys got a million dollars from their indiegogo anyway, so it's happening.
Now stop with the M-MUH PARKED CARS.

I know, right? An average person might come up with a concept like this to make use of solar energy in a parking lot, but only true innovators like the Brusaw family know that the secret to solving all world problems lies in putting the solar panels under the cars instead!
