Need tips... - Willy Nilly - 08-26-2008 I'm having the hardest time getting my IFF right for the BAF. And I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I've done missions out the wazoo for the BAF. I'm all but one bar away from having full and complete green with them. And for some silly reason the tag for my BAF character is Liberty Police (how the heck did that happen?). I've been told by other BAF that if I just kill lots and lots of Corsairs (npcs) that the BAF will love me. Well I've been killing them left and right and it just won't make a dent in my rep with them. It's like it's maxed out at just one bar shy and won't go any further. On the upside, killing lots of Corsairs has made me finally neutral with the Mollys, but it doesn't seem to help beyond that. Currently, the my rep ladder from the bottom begins: Liberty Police, Planetform, Gateway, then the BAF, with all of them apparently the same green levels. Now, I know how to loose rep with factions I don't want, just fail misisons. That's no problem for Planetform and Gateway. The only way I know of to loose the Liberty Police (in a good way) is to fail some missions for them, but am I really suppoed to fly my BAF ship into Manhattan? Any suggestions would be nice, and one that actually helps me would be great... Need tips... - Magoo! - 08-26-2008 Depots. Manhattan. Destroy. Or phail their missions. Either way, aside from killing LPI, it wont matter if you fly your BAF ship into NY. It'll just blend in with all the other OORP rubbish that goes on, only you'll at least have a reason. You said you've got Gateway/Planetform covered, so I don't need to tell you how to drop those. Need tips... - Willy Nilly - 08-26-2008 Okay, I got permission to enter Liberty space and landed on planet Los Angeles and took police missions and failed them. I lost the police tag. Yay! Then, the Liberty Navy tag comes out of NOWHERE and becomes my IFF. Someone, please, who understands how tags/reps work please explain to me what the hell is going on. I expected the police tag to go away and the next one I had high rep with to take it's place. Apparently, I am wrong on this. Help.. me... please.... Need tips... - Magoo! - 08-26-2008 Ummm, alright. Tag line-up. A B C D E (Unknown F) If you fail out A, B comes next. B to C, etc. However, if by some miracle you didn't encounter the Liberty Navy during launch, they wouldn't show on the rep sheet. I don't think... Unless they are there from the beginning... I don't know, its been a while since I made a new character. The Navy representing unknown F had secretly had full rep with you and jumped to the top. Thats the best way I can describe it. Need tips... - Willy Nilly - 08-26-2008 Okay, I'm kinda understanding what you are saying, but for your model, shouldn't it be flipped upside down? The bottom glowing faction is the current IFF, which in my case was Liberty Police. Going up the list from the bottom is Planetform, which had equal amount of green level to the Liberty Police. Shouldn't Planetform have been next in line to give me their love? If the game looks for some other faction towards the top of the list (which I have less love with) then that makes no sense at all to me. I think I was neutral with the Liberty Navy, until the police tag when away, then all of a sudden Liberty Navy is the one that loves me most. I'm still confused... *scratches head* Need tips... - Magoo! - 08-26-2008 Umm... Yes. It should technically be flipped. But like I said, sometimes the rep system glitches I think and makes some party full-green who really should have been before, but it was... Lagging behind I suppose. I think thats what happened with the Navy. Anyways, just keep wittling down the factions that are being obnoxious until you have the desired tag. One of my characters has 10+ full-green reps before I get the one I want, so it happens. Usually if you don't get the rep right the first little while, it can be really annoying to get the right one. Need tips... - Willy Nilly - 08-26-2008 Well, I kept at it and finally I got the IFF I need. That's a relief! |
