Official transmission towards: IMG| Guildmasters - Johnathan Nox Carter - 05-30-2014

Dear Guildmasters,

My name is Henry Corvin and i admit... quite some time has passed since I took over the seat as president of the Colonial Republic, yet I did not manage to get in touch with our beloved neighbours and friends, the IMG. For that, I apologise.

Still, with hope in my heart, I turn to you today for wondrous reasons. After careful debates between our government officials, we finally have a plan in place for the settlement of Planet Yuma. Long have we fought to create a new home for ourselves, but i believe that this may, at last, be what we were searching for.

With that in mind, I extend towards you an invitation as well as a request, not only to help us in this endeavor, but benefit from it. If you aid us in colonising Yuma, any unsettled disputes with regard to Pecos will end. Moreover, the Planet may in time become a trade hub, useful to the Guild, if not for others as well.

Understandably, much more needs to be discussed before we begin any joint venture, so that is why i hope we can discuss more, both here and in private if necessarily, so that we can start as swift as possible.

Yours truly,
Henry G. Corvin.
President of the Colonial Republic

Dear Preseident Corvin,

the Independent Miners Guild is glad to get into contact with the new leadership of the Colonial Remnant. The situation is still difficult but I dare say that we have always found ways of helping each other. Sometimes it is just harder than at other times, but I am confident that the old alliance is still as strong as it used to be when we were fighting the daily battles in the Taus side by side.

Hearing that the Yuma planning seems to have come to a conclusion is good news indeed. The situation of the refugees on Planet Pecos is suboptimal at best, and if we are honest it is hardly bearable.

I have spent the last few days convincing the Guildmasters to go down that road and the Guild agrees that we need a sustainable long-term solution. Yuma has always been a hot candidate, if the vegetation can be tamed. I assume there has been a breakthrough on that front, and if not, we will have to work towards one hard to make it work out.

The Guild has opened the existing files and data banks from the cooperation with the DSE. In the DSE attempts to colonize Yuma, the Guild participated in planetside excursions and research. Some of the data survived the destruction of the DSE research vessel. It's not a vast set of data, and it likely is outdated to some degree, but it might be worth something. The data keys are attached to this message.

In the spirit of cooperation and friendship, the Guild will help in the development of a plan to make Yuma the new home of the Colonial Citizens. Resources of our Logistics Department as well as Research & Development can be relocated from other projects to speed up the progress in days.

I suggest we connect our Research & Development teams in Coronado asap and have the combined brain teams come up with a plan and with a list of things they need to make it work. Your experts and I make sure these experts get what they need to put the plans into reality fast.

I'll put a forward Research Team on a ready-to-depart status, so they can relocate to Coronado once you give the green light and send us coordinates for a rendezvous. They should be ready to move out within 48 hours.

I hope that we can get a breakthrough on the Yuma front that will pave the road to a brighter future in Coronado for both the Colonial Republic and the Independent Miners Guild. That's a goal worth striving for.

Good luck with the project, President. You can be sure that the Guild will contribute their share to the project.

Yours sincerely

Jack Henderson

Guildmaster Henderson,

It gives me an immense pleasure to see that your answer is affirmative.

True, the situation on Pecos has been almost intolerable and thus it can not continue for long. The Colonials have endured enough of a hard lives as it is with the Gauls nearing our door-step, so the concept of a possible, much more fitting, place to actually call "home" is a dream for them. I, however, plan to make that dream a reality - and with your help, i am certain that we can make it happen.

Yuma - as you know - has always been a jewel of Coronado, except for it's rather inhospitable mainlands. After coming up with a plan to finish the Docking Ring that the DSE expedition began, as well as provide appropriate housing for Colonial citizens, without bearing in mind the aggressive flora, we decided that we can proceed into colonizing it.
In view of our plants problem, however, we have come to the conclusion that simple solutions simply do not work. Cutting down the plants cannot be done fast enough to slow down their regrowth process, as for fire-based weapons... the flora seems to be quite resilient. That being said, our next, most viable, option is to resort to biological weaponry. Still, the use of chemical compounds can be dangerous, so we have decided to contact Cryer Pharmaceuticals in hopes that their R&D division can come up with a suitable toxin, which would allow us to control the flora's expansion, while not affecting any other life forms or the planet's atmosphere for that matter.

Regarding your idea about mixing our R&D teams, I completely agree. I'll have a group ready to meet with your men and start working. They should focus, in my opinion, on working on the settling plans. Although our researchers have already prepared a "battle-plan", some improvements can surely be made. On the other hand, once we've contacted Cryer, I hope a team from their side will join ours in order to finish our "gardening" issue once and for all.

Meanwhile, our specialists have already compiled a list of priority supplies that need to be brought to Sabah before taken planet-side for the construction of the settlements. The Colonial Movers are already on the stand-by to start bringing in the supplies, although I hope some members of your Logistics department would like to help as well. Proper remuneration will of course be provided.
As soon as a stable channel is established for this purpose, I'll have your men receive a connection to it.

I believe this is all for now, but we shall keep in touch, Guildmaster.
Let us hope for the best from now on. So say we all!

Yours truly,
Henry G. Corvin.
President of the Colonial Republic

Dear Preseident Corvin,

I have just received operational green light and a solid funding for IMG Operations in the Yuma Colonization Project. What I have here should last for a few months for a start.

Consequently the IMG R&D teams are on their way to Coronado after they finished the equipment pickup at Jakarta. As no meeting point has been fixed yet, they are heading to Sabah Shipyard for the moment. Further relocation can be handled by the present Colonial Forces. Their ETA should be in something like 9 to 10 hours.

Repairing and finishing the DSE Atmospheric Entrance project makes sense and takes away the risks involved in transporting goods to the planet surface. There is little the Guild has in their archives about that project, as it was directed entirely by the DSE.

I expect that we will need DSE experts on it at some point, but perhaps our knowledge is sufficient and the status of the ring is good enough to finish it on our own. We will see. How are the relations between the Colonial Republic and DSE? The IMG can offer making the contact there.

Logistics Department has received the call already and will start running goods asap. I am sorting today's operations and I'll see whether we can fit a few flights in already. Completing the docking ring fast and gaining secure and reliable access to Yuma would be a promising first step.

Yours sincerely

Jack Henderson
