Corsair Capital Ship Registry - Muleo - 08-27-2008

Quote:As decreed by The Brotherhood and The Omega Pirate Guild

The sale of all Cruiser class ships of Corsair make will be hereby controlled by the TBH, and the OPG. All pilots who currently own a Corsair vessel of Cruiser class or higher must register their vessels here. Any pilots who plan to buy a Corsair vessel of Cruiser class or higher must register their vessel before purchase.

The behavior of a capital ship Captain must be befitting of the Captain of such a vessel. It is a privilege, not a right, to fly one of our majestic capital ships into battle. A privilege which should only go to the deserving, dedicated ones among us.

The Captain must be registered at a capital ship registry, with contact details, so that if something happens they may be quickly contacted. This is to allow us to contact you quickly if an unfortunate event should occur.

The warships in question should not leave the Corsair owned systems, contested systems may be entered and engaged only in emergencies, such as when the organized Corsair force in the area calls for assistance.

The warships in questions may also not enter house territory unless contacted by Corsair forces engaged in an organized raid inside enemy territory. This is to ensure that Corsair armor is deployed at lowest cost to fuel reserves whilst providing adequate backup to raiding parties in the field.

Corsai capital ships can leave Corsair owned systems if it is escorted by no less than 3 Corsair vessels of bomber class or lower, or called into the battlefield by the organized Corsair force.

Any violators will be warned and guided to the cause of the problem and how to rectify it. If the warning is ignored the pilot may be asked to retire the vessel, so it can be stripped or refurbished in such a way that benefits the Corsairs. If uncooperative, regretfully, we must disable the vessel in combat to be recycled at Tripoli.

Corsair Gunboats are not affected by this decree, as they take up very little manufacturing time compared to Cruiser and Battleship class vessels.

There are two reasons for this decree. The first being that the number of disabled capital ships has stabilized at a high level, and we need to bring this down to an acceptable level. Natural resources may be plentiful on Crete, but they are not infinite.

The second is that fuel consumption of capital ships, despite the best efforts of our engineers, is high when compared to the same cost of fighters and bombers, while being markedly less effective than said fighters and bombers. We believe that there is a place for capital ships on the battlefield despite this, but we must control the fuel consumption of these vessels. Bear in mind that we must get our fuel from raiding convoys of H-fuel in sigma 13 and MOX in Bretonia. These convoys are not frequent, so action must be taken to ration fuel consumption within our own ranks.

There are simply too many Corsair capital ships being fielded to keep our stocks of fuel at a reasonably safe level. Help us to curb the use of this fuel, and to further the goals of the Corsair nation as a whole.

Subject: Ship Registration

Can you please confirm by whose authority you are making this decree? On the face of it this appears to be a edict issued only by the TBH and OPG?

Can you also confirm that you will be attacking Corsairs for no better reason than that they own/fly a ship type that you have appointed yourselves as the only persons able to approve the use off?

I'd also like to ask who it is that approves/approved the TBH and OPG use of such ships? In effect to whom are the OPG/TBH accountable - who polices the police?

JP

\\OOC I was not able to see (although it may well be there) where the OPG ships had ever applied to be registered (unlike everyone else on the list). Perhaps their registration documents were lost in the post? Perhaps they don't feel they need to register?

This decree was agree to by the Council of Corsair Elders, while not a unanimous vote, it was a majority of Council members who approved the decree.

My thanks for clarifying this point for me. Would there be any value in editing part of the decree such that it makes this quite clear? It might avoid confusion in the future.

//*sigh* i make a new thread so it can be all nice and shiny without the crap blacky created by withdrawing from TBH, but I guess that's not to be.. When the first register came out, OPG was the first to register all her ships. However, blackstarr, the TBH centurion who uploaded the decree, then left TBH, and deleted the decree from his post. Luckily, LA-384 was able to retrieve it from google caches, and after asking blacky to put it back in, he refused, and I had to put it in my post (2nd post in the thread) instead. Now it was kinda weird to have both the decree and our registration there, and since it was such a long time ago, i just deleted our registration, and put in the more important decree there. And as for your comment about who polices the police? I think we can all be assured that if we misuse our power in a stupid/selfish/oorp way, that the admins would pwn our asses

Fearing the defamation of his crew, the sub-commander of the Battleship Talos has personally requested that I register the ancient warship here to avoid any misunderstandings, now that registration has been officially ratified by the Council and is considered law.

The Battleship Talos is an early model Osiris class vessel, constructed at Tripoli Shipyard, requisitioned by one of my predecessors, long before my tenure as Commandante. The Talos record speaks for itself; it's purpose and mission can be testified by the generations of Cretian people who have gazed into the skies, and felt safe under it's slender shadow.
The Talos, the giant mechanical defender of Crete, has been maintained by the Benitez familia for generations, and has received a total of 8 upgrades to it's armour plating since it was requisitioned by my predecessor.
With the dispatch of the Battleship Delos to guard our operations in Omicron 94, the Talos' primary objective continues to be the unwavering defence of the Corsair homeworld from enemy behemoths.
Quote:The Talos was our first battleship, one of the Osiris class Battleships constructed at Triploli with the assistance of the Order. The Talos has, for many years, been the guardian of Planet Crete, aligned to it's mythical namesake. The Talos has only once been deployed in an offensive strike, and for the most part, is purely for the defence of our home world. The command of the Talos is not constant, and can change depending on which pilots are deployed. The Supreme Commander of the Talos is the Commandante of the Benitez family.

With the dispatch of the Battleship Delos to Omicron 94, and the construction operations there, the decision has been made to decommission a number of our vessels.
The Corsair Cruiser; Cronus, very occasionally seen under my command, is to be dismantled at Tripoli Shipyard shortly after this message is recieved.
The fate of the remaining Orthyran Cruisers is to be decided by their individual commanders.

Praetor Zavier Benitez is currently on long-term recon of nomad infested space beyond Delta, with the Dreadnought Promtheus, the command of which will be reviewed following the completion of his mission.
Upon Zavier's return, the fate of the Atlas Cruiser will also be assessed.

The Bureau will be kept appraised regarding the fate of the Corsair Cruiser Rhea.

Miguel walked through the hanger, a folder under his arm. He had taken a small transport to Tripoli to avoid being as noticeable. The new Elder was not fond of this station, it hard a...a...a smell he could not quite identify, a smell the burned it's way up his nostrils. As Miguel crossed the hanger the officer of the deck came running up to him, almost out of breath

"Elder sir, I was not made aware that you would be visiting us. Is there some kind of problem?" Sephardi looked at the man, a hard working Corsair, the man in fact reminded the Elder of his first crew chief. "No, no problems, I am just touring some of our facilities to get a more hands on view of their operations, now that I have been... promoted." The officer looked a little puzzled, but seemed not to want to question an Elder of the Council. "May I offer you a guided tour Elder? Perhaps highlight some the major projects we are working on?" The Officer asked, obviously eager to please, and probably worried the Elder was here find some fault with operations of the shipyards. "No, that wont be necessary, I prefer to keep a low profile while I am here. Please do not make any log entries of my presence, nor tell anyone I have been here. I assume you understand."

With that, Sephardi pull the hood of his cloak around his head, sinking his face into the shadows it created. Turning, Miguel strode off toward the corridor, and was quickly out of the hanger, his long strides taking him to the deck 22 lift. Getting on the lift, Miguel pressed the control pad, directing the computer to take him to deck twelve. Arriving at deck twelve, Miguel checked his data pad, consulting a map of the layout of Tripoli. "Ahhhh, this way." Sephardi thought to himself, walking down the corridor with the sign 4B over it. Coming to the end of the corridor, Miguel opened a door, the sign on the wall read:
Quote:Vessel Registration and Administration (Sub-Branch)

The office was small, slightly smaller than the cramped security office of the Council Chambers. Behind a counter stood a tall, lanky Corsair, his drooped posture and sunken eyes made it clear this man was a bureaucrat, a person who spent his days reading and updating lists and protocols. Miguel walked up to the counter taking the poor man by surprise. Pulling down his hood, Sephardi reveled his face. "You know who I am?" he asked the man, who could do little more to reply than nod his head. "Why don't you take a break, I can keep an eye on things for fifteen minutes or so. Oh, and forget you ever saw me." The terrified man nodded once more, and almost ran out of the room as Miguel waved his hand in dismissal. Miguel then walked around to the other side of the counter, finding the data terminal, he accessed the file called Capital Ship Registration List. Opening the folder he had been carrying, Miguel pulled out the sheet of paper and entered the information from it into the terminal

ZOI: This ship is authorized to patrol any portion of Corsair space.

Class: Legate

The Information being added to the official list, Elder Sephardi made his way out of the office and back to his transport, and in space within ten minutes.

Corsair Capital Ship Registry - pieter123 - 08-28-2008

A chest was left at the CCSRB by some early Corsair trainees. When opened a stone tablet was found containing the following message:

----------
I greet you, fellow Corsairs, for these are, as always, difficult times. I also understand the need for registration of our capital ships, but I'm convinced that this method is too old and more parties should be involved in the registration of these capital ships, that's why I delivered the message in this way.

Now to the subject about the ship:

Class: Prefect Cruiser

Captain: "The O-Man"

Designation: Divinity

My crew is mostly Corsair but I also have good (better than most Corsairs) understanding with the Zoners, that's why there are 5 Zoners aboard my ship serveral with weapon specialization in their own Zoner Capital Ship weapons.

My primary task as Captain is to keep Corsair space safe, especially against the all-destroying Nomads, other pirates and bounty hunters aren't little trouble either so they won't get past our weapons. I have no intents to make money by pirating (it isn't allowed either) or attack civilian targets. Though sometimes we are forced to get some of their resources.

Because fuel is short for us Corsairs, I sometimes turn to my Zoner friends for fuel. Both for relieving other Corsairs for raiding for fuel and to keep close contact for trading and intelligence with the Zoners, you could say I'm a freelance Corsair for that and not loyal enough but I think people sometime underestimate our relationship with the Zoners, also I always place Corsair brothers and sisters above our relationship with other factions.
------

The message seemed to end with some unreadable characters but it seemed the message has already been passed on.
