Mercenaries - Cyro - 08-27-2008 Ok, I think I have missed something. I just don't happen to know why the mercenaries are banned from New York. Anyone cares to explain? Is there any RP reason? Mercenaries - Zapp - 08-27-2008 Because they keep attacking liberty lawfuls. As the LPI, I don't pay much mind to it unless the merc in question is making a nuisance of himself. It's kinda stupid, as if a merc is gonna attack us, they're not gonna care if we say they're allowed in or not... Mercenaries - Cyro - 08-27-2008 Ok, thanks for the answer... The problem is... It's much harder to find someone to escort you. I just don't want to be trading alone. I rather pay for someone to escort me than die out of boredom while trading. Mercenaries - Primus Avatar - 08-27-2008 abuse of power!!!!! so we are plain guilty before we even did something wrong? Mercenaries - Orin - 08-27-2008 Agreed, it's a fairly useless law. Perhaps the LPI could make an official request to repeal it? To Cyro: Oi, this is Freelancer Orin Hasting. Who needs mercs anyway? If you ever need an escort send me a transmission on my private channel. I'll be happy to assist you- for a reasonable price, of course. Mercenaries - tfmachad - 08-27-2008 Those that adhere to the regulation don't configure a problem. Those that don't are dealt with as hostiles by default. It's a "force the issue" kind of regulation. It appears useless to the people not concerned with law enforcement. Mercenaries that understand the idiosyncrasies of the job don't have to think too hard to work with the regulation. Mercenaries - Florian - 08-27-2008 You are right and there is no reason for mercs not to be able to offer their services as long as they are not causing trouble. However, there are many in the LPI who are bored and are abusing this power and driving mercs out just because they can't find any pirates to chase. Me, the leader of the LPI, just said that we don't bother with this unless the merc is actually misbehaving. You mean the LN or LSF... Mercenaries - Sand_Spider - 08-27-2008 Good thing my merc is unlawful.:P I got a Freelancer too, he's lawful. He even has the FL tag. Mercenaries - Zapp - 08-27-2008 ' Wrote:He even has the FL tag. So does mine:)Was a pain to get, but is awesome. |
