Ok, I think I have missed something. I just don't happen to know why the mercenaries are banned from New York. Anyone cares to explain? Is there any RP reason?

Because they keep attacking liberty lawfuls. As the LPI, I don't pay much mind to it unless the merc in question is making a nuisance of himself. It's kinda stupid, as if a merc is gonna attack us, they're not gonna care if we say they're allowed in or not...

Ok, thanks for the answer... The problem is... It's much harder to find someone to escort you. I just don't want to be trading alone. I rather pay for someone to escort me than die out of boredom while trading.

Agreed, it's a fairly useless law.
Perhaps the LPI could make an official request to repeal it?

Those that adhere to the regulation don't configure a problem. Those that don't are dealt with as hostiles by default. It's a "force the issue" kind of regulation. It appears useless to the people not concerned with law enforcement. Mercenaries that understand the idiosyncrasies of the job don't have to think too hard to work with the regulation.

You are right and there is no reason for mercs not to be able to offer their services as long as they are not causing trouble. However, there are many in the LPI who are bored and are abusing this power and driving mercs out just because they can't find any pirates to chase.

You joking, right? Me, the leader of the LPI, just said that we don't bother with this unless the merc is actually misbehaving. You mean the LN or LSF...
