Hogosya'Ryuu (Guardian Dragon) - AceofSpades - 08-28-2008

Hideki Matsumiiti, born upon Planet Honshu.
Born to a wealthy family, he watched his brothers and sisters before him spoiled rotten. Children with great promise, the tools to succeed, intelligence and wealth to make difference--they wasted away money on parties and ships. Hideki realized the family's downhill spiral, the first three children wasteful--parents unable to lay down any law. The father spent his days partying with many young models and women, the mother spent her days in grief over her husband's activity. Hideki needed a positive environment, he didn't care for the wealth--he didn't need it, what he cared for was the ability to make an impact.
The need to make an impact--it would drive him his whole life
Joined he did a military academy, quickly recognized as having leadership skills along with great intelligence, he was trained as an officer. Likely he would command a gunboat or possibly even a cruiser. Psychology, tactics, management, all of these subjects he trained in. Along with of course the martial arts and weapons training that all Military of the Kusari was trained in.
However, years of training and ascension to the top brought light to Hideki's eyes. Many of the characteristics that had pushed Hideki from his family began pulling him from the military. Greed, excess of activities outside duty, an overall lackadaisical sense of duty. Why would a "great military" be run by men who spent more time sleeping around then planning for the future. Thus the rift that pushed Hideki from his military ties slowly grew.
He placed at the top of his class, and thusly was placed at the helm of a Destroyer. The Seigi.no.Mikata, (japanese for Ally of Justice). He was sent to patrol the Honshu system, and as the rift between him and his military grew, thusly did the attraction of forces opposed to it. He learned through his experience of the ways of the Dragons. They were descendants of a reign overthrown, who had ruled with justice and righteousness, and certainly more zeal than that of the current reign. As he learned he neared a point of treason, and one day the scales finally tipped.
It was a quiet day, after a great battle near the jumpgate to Sigma 13. His hold contained many prisoners, a massive number in fact totaling almost half that of his crew. Orders from the top came in...
"Prisons would require some refit to accomodate such numbers, it would be easier just to kill them all, please do so."
...this was breach of military law. Not only that, it was a disgusting waste of human life purported only to make more free time for those at the top. Too lazy to push for the refit of a station, they would rather kill hundreds to make more time for their tee times and massage hours.
Knowing what was right, Hideki armed the captives held in the brig, and unlocked the cell doors. He led the dragons into battle to take the ship. The fighting was intense, Hideki was wounded in the left arm and to this day has a large scar up his forearm where a bullet swiped him. His coup, however, did not survive. The dragons were heavily outnumbered and outgunned, and were slowly beaten back to the rear of the ship. Hideki knew it was time to leave battle, and so he sabotaged the engines--not to detonate but simply to cease function. It was not his right to take the lives of the younger men who had served him in such cold blood, as a coward who would kill Navy under the name of a Navy man, he would have such chance to defeat Navy later in life as a Blood Dragon. After neutralizing the engines, him and the surviving Dragons left on the ships escape pods. The Destroyer was left dead in space as Hideki flew away.
Obviously now a man on the run, he snuck into Honshu to his family. His mother, who had watched him become the only child of true value and pride of the Matsumiiti family, and out of spite of what her husband had become, emptied her husband's bank account and sent Hideki on his way with almost a billion credits.
And thusly Hideki fled to a gas miner in Sigma 13. There he waited two months until a Dragon patrol raided and landed there. Apparently, his sabotage of a KNF Destroyer had been told by those Dragons that had escaped and returned to Kyoto. The Dragon patrol was happy to accept his request for transport to Kyoto. Thusly he entered the base of the Dragons, and was quickly accepted there.
At this moment, leaders of the Dragons debated upon what ship he would be given helm of. Of course they did not wish to waste his training, determination, and ability... his battle record at the helm of larger ships was incredible, and thusly the debate was not of "if he may be captain of a capital ship," but "what ship will his wealth and skill be able to acquire."
So now he sits in his quarters of Kyoto and waits for his opportunity to finally put his skills to use for a cause worthy...
