Technology Dossier: Liberty - James Greed - 06-08-2014

Data collected on the engines of liberty's capital ships & snubs.

Detailed scans show precise assembly, and sturdy inner systems. The wiring is also reinforced, so it can withstand huge amounts of punishment. It's size is fairly huge, but it can be understood why. Plasma arrays are improved, and more focused. A decent design, but the maintenance must be horrible. The systems are simple enough to be copied, though it would take a while for sure.

This one was surprising. The quality is far worse than the other models used by the navy. The circuits are almost unarmored, the quality is average. It's size is smaller, and the efficiency is worse than expected. It is quite vulnerable to explosive payloads due to it's unarmored nature. A poor design, so to say. It could be copied, but it's not worth the hassle.

A different design. Four smaller engines, each connected to a stabilizer module which is connected to the power source. A different approach, but, still better than the LABCs engine section. Boasting incredible armor ratings, compared to other similar vessels, this one is satisfying. The size is just perfect for the ship, making it far more maneuverable. The wiring is the classical mass produced one. It's a shame. Apart from that, it's quite decent. Copying it would be hard, but still, it could be done. A more detailed scan is needed, or the blueprints.

The downscaled version of the LSC's engines. Only slight modifications were used, to make it suitable for the vessel. It's size is huge, compared to the ships' size, but the efficiency is disappointing. The wiring is one of the worst ones. A torpedo can tear it open, rendering it unable to move. Not worth copying, but can be purchased from the Junkers.

All of these engines are similar. A focused plasma array, with slight adjustments depending on the vessel's size. The circuits are armored enough to withstand fighter weapons, but nothing more. The light fighter's engines are promising. The systems are overcharged, in order to produce sufficient power to make the fighter become faster. It's also a vulnerable point in that engine. Luckily, these engines are sold on the market, and the Junkers might have some spare parts for these beauties. No need to copy it.

All in all, these engines can be described in two words: " Mass Produced" By saying this, I mean that the quality is average, lacks of special solutions. There are some parts worth using in the future though. As soon as I get to check the engines in Rheinland, I can compare the two. Until then, that's all I can say.
