David Scarborough;

RE: The Core Recruitment - Taragarth - 01-21-2016

RP Form
Your Name: The Honorable Bartholomew Bates, Esquire.

Your Age: Thirty-seven and counting.

Where are you from?: Bretonia proper, born and raised New Londoner.

Previous Jobs/Roles/Experience: Used to work for the bounty hunters as a lawyer and.. cleanup guy. Learned of the Core. Drew my conclusion.

Detailed Background, a Paragraph (the more we can learn about you, the better):

Childhood, adolescence, adulthood. Such a simple sequence, yet many, if not most people experience serious trouble somewhere in between. Not so Mr. Bates, scion of a minor yet wealthy noble family. Grocery stores across the planet, that's the Bates' territory. Compared to the vast opportunities in space, a planetside corporation is exceedingly boring for a silver spooned young man with wilder ambitions. After law school, Bartholomew set out to Sheffield station and joined the bounty hunters' legal division. They were always looking for new recruits, and this one seemed rather eager to take to their particular line of work. Suffice it to say, eventually mr. Bates was selected for 'other work' that also required spaceflight. Unfortunately, the details of these jobs must remain classified and non-disclosed. Upon hearing of the Core and their operations in Omicron, mr. Bates was delighted. The creation of a new empire in the reaches of Sirius, on its very Edge, would be a worthwhile investment as life's work. Jumping in a Manta, mr. Bates took off to the Omicrons, to find the fabled Omicron Rho and its shipyard. There we are. As long as we can remain polite about it.

Why do you want to join The Core?: The Core is a calling. Omicronia must be realized.

OORP Form
How long have you been playing Freelancer Discovery for?: Recently returned to a whole new discovery after a year's hiatus. I used to fly with the LSF, Labrise(Corse family), corsairs and some oddball random factions.

Have you ever played a Core character before? Have you read the lore of The Core? Do you know what The Core is?: This would be my first Core character. I've read most there is to read about the organisation, and see the bigger goal.

How familiar are you with the Edge Worlds?: I'm getting to know them; was never that keen on Nomad space but that perspective is changing. I know my way around the 'Core' systems.

How would you rate your RP skills out of 10?: At least 8, I've RP'ed since DnD 3ed edition. Currently GM'ing Wh40K Rogue trader.

How would you rate your PvP skills out of 10? What ship-types are you good in?: Err.. 4? None? Though I feel I prefer gunboats as a good compromise.

Why do you want to join the The Core?: Omicronia. It needs a polite yet excruciatingly frustrating legal system.

Do you already own a Core ship? If yes, what ship(s) is it?: Currently mr. Bates is in possession of a fine 'Orca' class Core gunboat.

What Country and/or Time Zone do you operate in?: I operate in the GMT +1 timezone.

Finally, what is your Skype?: Mr. Bates' Skyp3 protocols are known to the organisation.

Kind regards,

Bartholomew Bates, Esquire.

Your Name:
Hélène Dupuis

Your Age:
24

Where are you from?:
Toronto Station, Ontario system

Previous Jobs/Roles/Experience:
Mechanic
USI Escort pilot
Lieutenant Commander of the Liberty Navy primary fleet
Second in Command of the Liberty Navy intelligence wing, the ESRD
Served as intelligence officer and Gallic interpreter planetside during Operation Royal Flush
Temporary Xenoscientist position within the Order

Detailed Background, a Paragraph (the more we can learn about you, the better):
Hélène Dupuis was born into the Franco-Libertonian minority of Liberty, and her Sirian was somewhat lacking as a result. Her childhood is unremarkable, having attended to the Libertonian public school system, rarely ever having the chance to get off-station. The few occasional unlawful strikes against the station left her in shock, which triggered in her a strong sense of protection towards her compatriots from a very young age. Once in her teenagehood, Hélène developped an interest for all things mechanical and electronics as a result of her many part-time jobs helping mechanics, electricians and engineers maintaining the station. Graduating a few years later from the Toronto Station - Sector C High Scbool with average grades and obtaining her Civilian Piloting Licence the same year, she applied for an escort pilot position within the USI, where she received training in fending off, not killing off, criminals of all kinds. This was an occasion for her to finally see more of the world, and actually become interested in Inter-House politics and dynamics. When Gallia was revealed to Sirius, her minority became ostracized within the House. To prove her loyalty to Liberty , she enlisted in the Liberty Navy as to serve and protect her homeland from the potential invader, as well as to defend her honor and integrity.

At least, until her service disillusioned her about the reality of her House. Dupuis soon realized that the real threat against everything she tood for, her home and loved ones were not the other houses, but the alien invaders. Despite all this, she 'enjoyed' a fast tracked career until she stagnated at the rank of Lieutenant Commander, during which she became Second in Command of the intelligence wing of the Liberty Navy, the ESRD, having exhibited various traits that proved she would be up to the task. During that period, Dupuis found herself to be a bit of a tinkerer, proficient with most technology she'd get her hands on. During Operation Royal Flush, she served planetside alongside Rachel Baker, serving as her interpreter for all things Gallic, among various other intelligence roles. Dupuis soon became disinterested with the politics of the Navy after the major defeat, and renounced her position within the ESRD. Wandering for a while with other ESRD defectees, offering her services to the Order, she soon found herself dissatisifed with their own strifes and lack of ressources. As a result, she's been Freelancing solo ever since, occasionally making a return trip to Liberty to take care of her family.

Why do you want to join The Core?:
"Put bluntly, mutual interest. I recognize the Core's vast influence within the Omicrons, and their no-nonsense politics fit me well. My interest is in the Nomad threat, and I believe the Core is one of humanity's best defense against them. You will find that I can bring you valuable intel not only on the Nomads, but on many other entities, organisations and whatnot if need be. I realize our best shot at surviving is waging a direct war against them, and expanding our influence ever further into the stars. If you'd allow me, I'd be glad to lend you my extensive list of skills."

Where are you from?:
The Omicrons. Born on Freeport 11 but raised all over the edge worlds

Previous Jobs/Roles/Experience:
Not much. None, actually. Just graduated the Core Advanced Space Combat and Intelligence Program

Detailed Background, a Paragraph (the more we can learn about you, the better):
Born on Freeport 11, like the vast majority of omicroners. My mom is a Core intelligence officer now, but back then she was just a courier working for the Bounty Hunters Guild. I never knew my father tho, but apparently he was a great man since my mom only knew him for one day and one night but it marked her life up to this day and mine. My mom said that their connection was so strong, that she chose to let me bare his last name. If only he felt the same, since my mom never saw him again. Yes, he was a corsair. An engineer of some sort, as far as I remember, making a pit stop on Freeport 11 while heading... somewhere. Anyway, since my mom was a courier for more than 10 years, I was raised all over the place, constantly traveling between the edge worlds and the four houses. When I was 7, she finally took a desk job on Deshima Station in order to provide me with an education. When the time came, she chose to side with the Core part of the guild, so in 816 we moved to the newly built Dabadoru Station. A couple of years later I was sent to Durban Station to get my training and now the time came for me to start pulling my own weight.

Why do you want to join The Core?:

Pilot Name: Alesia Cornell

Pilot Age: 29

Pilot Region, House or Location of Origin: Omega-3 System, Freeport.

Are You Applying for The Core Paramilitary, or our AP Manufacturing Sub-Divison?: AP Manufacturing

Previous Jobs/Roles/Experience:
- Inventor/Scientist in the Cambridge Research Station - 5 years.
- Knowledge in Engineering as a result of personal hobbies and working conditions.

Detailed Background, One Paragraph or So (the more we can learn about you, the better):
Began life on Freeport 1 and born into a family that owned a shop that sold mining-related equipment. Her father was an engineer that loved to tinker and create, selling his viable creations for a great margin due to the system being popular with miners. Rarely having much to do on the Freeport besides going to the on-station schools, Alesia devoted a lot of her time to helping her father, and trying to learn about his inventions and eventually aspiring to create her own to impress her father.

He noticed the potential in his daughter, and decided that Alesia should aim higher than just being a hobby tinkerer based off her interest in the subject. Having made profit from his store, he managed to earn enough money to send her daughter off to Bretonia, Cambridge, where she went to study in university as an engineer. Cambridge University was especially prestigeous, and had many opportunities to participate in expeditions, showcases, cooperative works with famous people, where she learned to love not only technology, but everything that would relate to it.

Having finished university, she went on to pursue her and her father's dreams to learn, create and advance. She was offered a spot on the Cambridge Research Station to assist in finding ways to improve day-to-day life, helping veterans who've lost limbs and making artificial enhancements to replace them to which she, naturally, agreed. There, she found renowned people working alongside her, who also taught her many intricacies of science such as genetics, and how they'd pair with the enhancements themselves.

However, her latest projects were deemed too "dangerous" and "unethical" to continue pursuing, and she was shunned by the scientific community in Bretonia. Her big aspirations, however, caught the interest of some organizations that would look away and permit anything as long as progress was being made...

Why do you want to join APM?:
To follow my ambitions of advancing technology, gaining experience as well as serving for a more interesting cause than mere "profit".

Recite Our Motto: Dolor transit, gloria aeterna est.
