Help with escorting - PlasmaSabre - 06-30-2014

Recently i was on my Pirate char 'SilverTalon' flying past West Point when a couple of gunboats (NPC) attacked me. No problem. I didnt really bother with them, fired a few shots perhaps, but nothing major. I kept flying towards the California JG when a Union Corse ship (of all things Big Grin) pops up on my radar and begins attacking me, saying that he is defending the NPC gunboats.

So my question is: Is this ok? Can 'unlawful' players attack you in 'defense' of 'lawful' NPCs?

Thanks

He can't attack you to defend NPC's outside his ZOI, and with that ID he can't defend NPC's who not belong to his faction or are allied to him.

Union Corse is quasi-lawful, not unlawful, but he can't do what he did.

Ok, thanks for clearing that up for me Smile

I know it may be a bit late, but I'll answer anyway. I am the owner of that Corse ship mentioned in OP. So:

No. I CAN attack any freelancer or pirate if he is attacking any lawful ship.

Unione Corse ID Wrote:- Can attack lawfuls, unlawfuls and quasi-lawfuls in self-defence, to protect an allied or neutral lawful ship, or in defence of a base of the same affiliation.

So, TANK was shooting at Navy gunboats, who are from my point of view, neutral lawful ships, so I've asked him to stop shooting, when he didn't I've moved in to engage. I'm sorry if there are rules saying that NPCs are treated different, never heard about them before.

You're right, TheSauron, sorry, my mistake.

Isn't Liberty way out of UC's ZoI though? Would be like liberty rogues pirating in rheinland.

It's away from ZoI, but outside of it's ZoI Corse looses only it's ability to pirate. As far as I know, the ID rule about assisting ships works out of ZoI too. I may be wrong though.
