I love this guy and all the stuff he does. This will be interesting to watch.
I actually read his book on this too. It was pretty great Big Grin

Lets hope we don't destroy the earth. Otherwise we have to launch sleeper ships and travel to Sirius.

Pretty much the same in a better quality. Also, he has a lot of good "lectures" on the Big Think channel, you could check them out.

This is definitely a fun topic to think about, but it won't happen during our lives so what's the point.

This was very interesting. I quite enjoyed listening to him and I hope we'll complete the transition :|

Not in our lifetime ? Its happening out there, that IS his point.
The problem is that we experiece it, with alll its problems.

With change, with unemployment, with crisis and war.

Not caring is some kind of *putting the head into the sand* tactic, dont you agree ?

I've met michio kaku a few years ago with my cousin, who is also a physicist. I don't think string theory is the theory of "everything" given the fact that now its pretty much conclusive that we need a theory of "anything". Still intresting, and I do recommend reading his books.

There's also a good lecture on that, again on Big Think.

Thank you.

Also, while I generally like what he does, I am afraid that sometimes Dr. Kaku is a little too optimistic for some of his assertions on human technological advance to be true. And while optimism isn't necessarily a bad thing, it can be incredibly down-letting.

No worries. Smile

I find that too. I want to believe, but sometimes I will see something so disappointing that I stick my head in the sand and keep with the daily grind.

It's hard to have hope.

Is he right about whether it will happen? Whether it will happen during our lifetime? No idea. To me that small little bit of doubt isn't worth not putting in the effort to make it happen, or at least get closer to that goal.
