In dire need of aid (Pita and Nevaeh only) - Widow - 07-17-2014
Pita had given up. Buster was dead, her friend she had just met - Ivy had gone back home. The silence of space was deafening and being left alone with her thoughts was something Pita feared. She had made her way to Kepler with the intention of heading to Kusari. It was space she didn't know but she was sure it wouldn't be too hard to navigate and it wasn't Rheinland.
She glanced down at her ships control panel, an alarm had gone off, a light indicating there was an incoming missile was flashing. She looked around, unable to see where the ships were, but she wasn't going to fight back. After all, this is what she wanted.
The missile hit, cutting her engines. No sooner had it done that the hostile ships began to open fire. Pita swore under her breath and instinct took over. She tried to evade but for the most part she failed. More alarms went off, and lights flashed, her left wing was critically damaged, the rest of her ship wasn't looking great either. It was then she realized she wasn't ready to die. She pushed a series of buttons and sent out a distress signal, hoping someone would respond. She sounded nothing but a scared girl in the transmission, at this moment of time, that is all she was.
If anyone is there.... I need help in sector E... E2.... My ships damaged, and I'm... I'm under attack.... Please help."

A young woman sitting in the Freeport Ames just docked and heard an urgent distress call on her comms. The distress call was blurry, it'd cut out occasionally. But what was clear, was that this girl needed help. The woman heard a bit more of the transmission and realized it was a child. Her instincts kicked in and she immediately reengaged her engines and undocked from Ames. Going at full cruise speed she made way to this girl.
After what seemed like hours she got within distance of the distress call to reply clearly to the girl. Hello? My name is Ne-- before she could finish her sentence two Xeno fighters came out of nowhere, they changed their targets it seems and all cannons were on Nevaeh. Nevaeh tries to remain calm and reply to the distress call while evading their shots. Honey? My name is Nevaeh, and I'm going to help you. The people who shot you were Xenos, and I'm going to get them as far from you as I can. I -promise- I'll be back. Nevaeh cuts her engines and shoots at the Xenos and gets a lucky shot on one, disabling his fighter. She pulls the now single Xeno into the cloud and manages to lose him. Seconds later a loud explosion was heard, and Nevaeh didn't stick around to find out what it was caused by.
Shortly after these events Nevaeh kept her promise to the little girl and sped back to her, even passing the disabled Xeno on the way. Hi there honey. You're safe now. Okay? What's your name? What happened to you? Why are you all alone? I've got so many questions for you sweetie! But I promise, as long as I'm here, I won't let that ever happen to you again.

Pita watches the other ship for a moment taking fire. She shook her head, thankful they weren't shooting her anymore. She began to try and quieten some of the alarms, she knew her ship was broken. The noise wasn't helping.
She had given up on trying to stop the alarms, the essentials were still running and the engine wasn't too damaged. The woman's voice gave her a fright but she took a deep breath, this wasn't the time to panic. "I'm Pita...." She didn't answer any of the other questions.
She tried to keep herself distracted, ignoring the voice in her head. Eventually she had managed to calm herself down. She wasn't hurt, and she was alive. "You heard... And you came and helped... Thank you."

Of course I came! How could I not? Nevaeh pondered a moment trying to decide how to get Pita out. Well, Pita, it's good to meet you. But now we've got another problem, you need to remain calm when I tell you this she takes a deep breath Your engine has caught fire. Nevaeh expected a scream, but Pita calmly said Great... Nevaeh was surprised by this, but was rather.. proud of her for actually remaining calm. Okay Pita, I need you to-- Nevaeh was interrupted by a loud screech on the comms sounding something like GETMEOUTTAHERE! with the sudden change of tone, Nevaeh started to worry a bit as well. She expected the worst, and assumed the ship's cockpit was on fire. This was not the case though. Pita sweetie, I need you to trust me on this. Eject out of your ship. I've seen this before, please don't make me see it again... please. Just trust me. I'll tractor you up, and I'll let you sit in my ship with me. Nevaeh's eyes started to water. Her heart, filled with fear.

Pita shook her head as she realized what this meant. "no.... no no no. I can't loose the ship..." She rubbed her forehead trying to figure out a way around the problem. There was a loud bang from the back of her ship and she took a deep breath before pushing the 'eject' button.
Being the first time she had used this, she was unsure of what to expect. Before she knew it, the silence was back. She had kept her eyes shut, a part of her expected to die. For a moment, she wondered if she had. She murmured something quietly to herself about surviving before opening her eyes.

Nev almost panics at the speed Pita was shot out of her ship, this of course for the best as the ship could've exploded the second she pressed the button. She quickly tractored her into the cargo bay, got out of her seat as fast as she could and filled the bay with oxygen. She opened the hatch, and helped Pita out of the escape pod and into the cockpit, where she quickly pulled down the extra seat (The seriously looks like it was designed for a child) and helped her get buckled in. Pita clearly wasn't interested in the help, but Nevaeh insisted. Pita, are you okay? Pita looked straight through Nevaeh, as if she wasn't even there. Pita sweetie, it's okay. I promise. No one will hurt you. Just stay right there, okay? We need to get away from your ship, it's not safe at this distance. Please, just don't get out of the seat. Nevaeh sits in the pilot seat and buckles up. She engages the ships impulse engines, and slowly moves away from the damaged ship. Hang on Pita, I'm going to engage the cruise engines. I'm sure you know how it feels, but I just want you to hold on. This thing is a bit old, jolts sometimes. still no reply from Pita. She just stares at random things in the ship, including some cardamine sitting near Nevaeh. Shortly after the cruise engines were engaged, Pita's Liberator exploded and a shock wave passed through Nevaeh's Marauder. It was minor, but still very noticeable. Pita, Nevaeh softly said you're safe now. I'm gonna take you somewhere safe. I'll take care of you.

Pita was silent for the trip. While she had noticed the cardimine, she paid it no attention. She was deep in thought, trying to figure out what to do next. Her ship was gone. The last connection she had to Lambert was destroyed, and Buster was dead. She didn't know who this woman was, her name was strange and she was too friendly.
you're safe now. I'm gonna take you somewhere safe. I'll take care of you.
Pita couldn't help but smirk a bit at this. The amount of times she had been told that before, the amount of lies she had been told about being looked after. Every single one of them was dead or had left her to fend for herself.
Once they reached the jump gate Pita spoke, she was quiet, but it was still audible. "Where are we going."

Pita, we're going to my home in Kusari. Lots of girls like us live there. You can stay with me, for as long as you like. Also, seeing as you don't have a way to get around anymore, she stopped mid sentence realizing that she likely didn't just -find- that ship. Maybe it meant something. So she changed the topic. Well, anyways as I was saying we're gonna go to a safe place. A station called Ainu. It's a bit of a flight, but if you wanna talk and get to know each other better, I'm all for it! We can't take the trade lanes though.. they're dangerous for me. Well, I'll start... how's that sound?
Nevaeh smiles at Pita while they go through the jump gate. As you know, my name is Nevaeh. Nevaeh Morgan. I actually came from Liberty if you could believe it.. She pauses for a moment, and thinks of Pita's ship. It was a wonderful place, so much life everywhere. I used to live on Planet Eire actually. Pita remains silent, but seems to be at the least listening. You know, not to change the topic she pauses and smiles at her, not expecting one back. but has anyone told you that you have the most beautiful eyes, sweetheart? Pita looks shocked for a moment.. almost stunned by Nevaeh's words; she looks away quickly and says a quiet Thanks.. I guess..... and doesn't look back at Nevaeh for a little bit. By now, they're roughly near D5 of Shikoku. Hey you! Nevaeh laughingly says, did you know that we're almost to the next system? Cause we are. Nevaeh is ignored. And did you know... that when we get to Ainu I'll buy you a meal? Maybe... some... Mac 'n' cheese.. Nevaeh ponders at what else Pita might like, rolling her eyes occasionally at her silly ideas of seafood and steaks. Oh, and we can get you some juice. I think the station has orange juice... if that's okay. They might also have grape... not sure though. Nevaeh looks at Pita for a moment, smiles again, and looks back. Nevaeh could swear she saw a crack of a smile on Pita's face at the mention of food and juice. Pita, it's okay. I know you must be scared. But I made a promise to you that I'd keep you safe, and I plan to keep that promise until we can find your parents. Alright? Until then, if you want, you can stay with me. You do want to come with me.. right? Pita looks blankly for a moment, and mumbles Sure..

Pita shook her head and sighed slightly "You wont find my parents.... They don't care. And James is gone again..... He had work and had to go away." she looked out the window before continuing. "James gave me that ship, and now its gone. I should have stayed at home...." she fell silent again, her body language was saying she was upset, but her face remained expressionless.
That was the most she said for the rest of their flight through that system. She rubbed her arm, she was cold and her jacket was left on the ship. Everything she held close to her was on that ship apart from a small charm bracelet she hadn't taken off for a long time. Scars were visible down both of her arms, some of which looked like she had done herself but most of them weren't. "Where is Ainu?" she asked, looking out the window at the system around them. She had never been there before, but she knew she would need to be able to recognize where she had been if she needed to escape and return home.

Nevaeh was tempted to ask who James was and more about her parents, but she decided to avoid the question for now. As clearly she didn't wanna discuss him. Noticing Pita is wanting specifics on Ainu's location, Nevaeh complies. Pita, would you like to know exactly how to get to Ainu from Ames? Pita nods slightly, showing no other emotion. Okay, first you go through Shikoku like we are now -- She continues to explain the directions, including all the jump hole locations all the way up to when they arrive in Hokkaido. Pita and Nev arrive at the Kyushu jump hole, and they go through.
As they're passing through the jump hole, Nevaeh explains When we get to the other side, we're going to be shot at sweetie. Don't be frightened, I know how to handle it. We won't even get hit once. and as Nevaeh said, she did manage to get them through without getting hit, despite her crazy flying. Ainu is really nice. Once you get used to it all, you might really like it! a very unamused look was on Pita's face. You know, I see you keep touching that bracelet of yours. It's very pretty. Maybe you could make me one someday? Nevaeh laughs softly, and hopes for a smile out of Pita, but she doesn't look to avoid disappointment. You know, I'm sure you think you don't want to likr me.. but I bet deep inside you actually do want to. Or to at least open up a little to me. I promise, I'm not as mean as I look. She turns around and smiles at her again.
The thought comes to her mind again that, that ship may have been a lot more than just a ship. You know, I know what it's like to lose people. My mother couldn't afford to care for me, and my father only tormented me. I left at a fairly young age, ended up meeting two wonderful people named Mana, and Minori. They taught me a lot, they taught me about friendship, an loyalty. They taught me how to fly, how to love someone as family. Most importantly, they taught me how to care for people. They died awhile back thanks to some angry Kusari police men. After it all came to.. I felt paralyzed. Life felt... like it wasn't real anymore. Nevaeh starts to get teary eyed again. By now they're near Planet Kyushu. Nevaeh made sure to stay clear of it though. It's not worth the time saver with Pita on board.
