Anti-aliasing issue (ATI card) - Karst - 07-21-2014

Okay, so here's a weird issue I have.

On some reboots, my AA works perfectly fine as it should.
On other reboots, it turns itself off whenever I alt-tab.

I have forced AA on via my Catalystâ„¢ Control Center. I alt-tab, and when I tab back in, it's off. Not the setting, just the AA itself. However it doesn't turn off if I toggle it when alt-tabbed (Use application settings on/off).

As in, I alt-tab, turn it on, tab in, it works. Alt-tab, turn it OFF, tab in, it also works - doesn't matter whether I turn it on or off, as long as I toggle it, it works.

For obvious reasons I don't really want to have to toggle it every time I alt-tab.
Does anyone else have this kind of issue?

Background info: card is a Radeon HD 5700 series. Nice card, but the software is a never-ending nightmare. And freelancer isn't the only game that has weird AA issues.

Radeon cards just sort of... do that, in my experience. I wish I could offer more help, but that's about the extent of my knowledge on it.

The cards themselves are okay, and its already 3 years in a row that AMD beats nvidia in almost every form. Anyway, the issue is with the ccc ( known as catalyst control panel ) and you'll need to download the latest version or downgrade it to a stable one. Also, you may toggle the AA On and click APPLY and do NOT close the ccc. Start your game and exit it, it should keep the settings from that point on.
