I am a single player with no desire to play on a server. I would like to use one of the heavy or very heavy fighters but need them to mount the Admin shields and cheetah thruster. Increased cargo capacity and power output would also be nice. How do change specs or customize the ships?

You could edit the INI files, or use Ioncross Freelancer Server Operator to edit the ships equipment.

Blanket, I have know idea how to these. Can you point me in the right direction to learn?
EDIT: After reading the posts on Ioncros FLServer Operater, I will pass on that option.
