Dear corporate executives,

For some time now, Yuma has become more and more a place for us in this Crayterian Republic to call home, yet more steps need to be completed prior to the exodus of our people from Pecos. The moon is a harsh mistress to our people, as you can see. Though the ground beneath the skies in which the great Sabah rests is indeed not far better, we have found temporary alternatives. Where we're settling, we don't need ground.

However, Parliament has agreed - quite shocking that, is it not? - that assistance from your entities would prove to be invaluable to us. I will explain what we ask of you below; do rejoinder if your interest is piqued.

Representatives of Cryer, what we seek from your fine labs is twofold. Flora from Planet Yuma has a nasty habit of being invasive, in many forms. In order to lower the risk for our fine citizens, extensive research ought to be concluded in case pathogens happen to be present to which inoculations must be issued. Moreover, if possible we are also looking for a toxin that can be used against the plant life but at the same time is not detrimental to human habitation.

Representatives of Synthetic Foods, we do of course desire your low-cost food supplies and even some of your more elegant products as well. Alongside that, we presume that in the wide fields of which your various non-gelatinous crops are grown, your corporation has previously been in need of various plant toxins. Our offer to Cryer for research in that is an open option to Synth, too.

Should specimens of Yuma's natural flora be required for testing purposes, include such a request in your riposte. Colonial Movers may soon have them brought to Cambridge Research Station and Riverside Station respectively, if required.

I bid good day to you.

Sincerely,
[Image: tapuo3.png]
Nelson Steele,
Minister of State,
Colonial Republic Parliament

Greetings, Minister of State Nelson Steele.

I must admit, of the many places I could have received a message from, it was most unusual to receive one from the Colonial Republic. Nevertheless, it is good to hear you are reaching out to us - you've always had a good history of work with Liberty corporations, and I'd like to continue that legacy. The proposal you bring to the board at Synth Foods interests myself and the rest of the directors greatly. Thus, I would like to respond to your request with a proposal:

Colonial Movers will deliver 3,000 cm³ of Yuma-grown flora to Riverside Station, California for testing.

Synth Foods, Inc. vessel "Strongarm" will be dispatched to Coronado to conduct scans of the planet Yuma, with Colonial escort if needed.

Synth Foods, Inc. will also offer as many units of Synth Paste™ and Synth Gel™ products as necessitated by the Colonial Government, which can be negotiated for in a supply contract attached to this communications frequency.

Synth Foods, Inc. would also like to offer usage of FloraGro™ product - a fertilizer equivalent that combines a high-grade pesticide and natural fertilizers to boost plant growth by up to 50% whilst also killing any invasive species or pest that may attempt to hinder efforts.

If the preliminary terms seem agreeable, we can begin to iron out the details. If you could inform the board as to the quantity of Synth Paste™ and Synth Gel™ you require, as well as if you require payment for the Yuma-grown flora, when our research vessel may depart for Coronado, and if you will be requiring our FloraGro™ product - all of this information will help streamline our efforts and make this venture a most successful one.

Regards, Jay Stevens

Yuma Research

Mr. Steele,

Cryer Pharmaceuticals and Medical Technologies is capable and willing to enter into a joint research project with your scientists. I have been forwarded the reports regarding the native flora of Yuma from the DSE databanks, and your proposal in regards to them is certainly intriguing. If you desire, I will ask the R&D boys to put together a team and ready a ship to start a pathological analysis of the local environment. You may have access to our laboratories on Cambridge, but I would personally suggest purchasing several of our laboratory station modules to allow for research and testing on location (along with appropriate amounts of HazMat containers, containment units, remote research drones, and industrial grade incinerators). Our scientists can be commissioned to assist in research taking place at Yuma as well in order to supplement your men or conduct the research for them. We should be able to find a way to cull the local plant growth, or outright prevent it. We have been working on a chemical based on an HPPD inhibitor which has promising large scale applications, however it would need to be tailored to Yuma's local flora more precisely before I would suggest applying it.

In addition, if you accept our assistance in researching the flora on Yuma, I must insist that you allow an independent team of R&D personnel from Cryer Pharmaceuticals and Medical Technologies to conduct their own researching and cataloging along side the research team in charge of determining the danger posed by the local plant life. They will be required to move a yet unspecified amount of biological samples off world for research for potential applications at our own facilities.

Working together I am sure we can make Yuma a much safer and more lucrative place.

Honorable gentlemen,

I am pleased to have heard back from you both so promptly. First, I feel I must make this clear; we are not striving to eradicate the indigenous vegetation, instead merely provide room for future settlements whilst keeping the wildlife in check.

Director Clarke, your offer is indeed gracious, nevertheless we have no need to purchase one of your laboratory modules for Sabah Shipyards at this time. Withal, our Minister of Science is thrilled to have aid for his research. Accommodations for up to eight dozen of your scientists, including your specialized team, shall be appropriated here at New Thessalonica. Naturally, progress will be monitored and sample collection reasonably limited.

Mister Stevens, your eagerness to delve into this is much appreciated. Maestro Tennyson has been notified to dispatch a Mover to your facility with specimens. Subsequently, a list of goods has been devised for shipment to Sabah; 10,000 units of Synth Paste, 10,000 units of Synth Gel, 12,000 units of food rations, 2,500 units of luxury food, 5,000 units of Fora Gro, 2,000 units of pharmaceuticals, and 500 units of tea. This is to serve as a means to kick-start settlement here on Yuma and create a substantial reserve stock. After all 42,000 units are delivered, a bonus check of 50,000,000¢ will be transmitted.

Sincerely,

Good evening, Synth CEO.

We appreciate the slight extra amount that your transport captains have shipped to us. Having filed the necessary paperwork, the request was put through for the fifty million credits, and thus it has been sent. You'll find the digital check below. It has been a pleasure working with you.

May you let us know when your scientists are due to arrive, Director Clarke? I do not intend to rush you, but our folks are eager for support.

Sincerely,

Mr. Steele,

The transport with the research teams departed the day after the transmission you sent agreeing to the project. So they are not due to arrive, they should already be on location. We have gotten confirmation reports of their arrival, however if you cannot account for their whereabouts there may be an issue at hand.
