The Casual Meeting - Stefz - 08-14-2014 - Corsica Outer Sanctum, Omicron 85 It has been a long day for Valente. Returning from Liberty, attending a couple of meetings, contacting Junkers. He never thought being a temporary Administrator of the 101st Maltese Spectres was this difficult. While lying on a bed in his chambers on Corsica, a million thoughts were crossing his mind. Attempting to fall asleep was pointless. It was like Valente's brain cells were going rogue, acting against his will. "Who would have thought this would be so exhausting. I need to leave and take a break from this place." Seemed like he was talking to himself without even realizing it. After ten minutes of staring through the window, observing the Razgriz singularity, turns out it was actually a good idea to go somewhere far from it. As the VI in his room started talking, Valente immediately muted it, obviously being frustrated by the voice, ripping through his ears. "Alright, I have had enough of this. Maybe I should go somewhere and get myself a drink, meet a casual stranger to talk to. You do not simply talk to another Maltese citizen, it just gets awkward at some point, if it is not about business." "Osorio, cut all the communications directed towards me. I will be unavailable for a couple of hours." - Newport station cafe, Sigma 13 After a rather long and dull flight, Valente finally reached the cafe, all the way down in Sigma 13 system. It wasn't exactly full at that moment, but there were a few people here and there, minding their own business. Some celebrating, others drawning in grief. He walked to the bar, took a seat next to an already drunk-looking man, pouring his glass with a bottle of whiskey. The bartender walked up to Valente, and as soon as he opened his mouth, Rossi cut him off. "Do not ask. Just give me a shot of tequila."
RE: The Casual Meeting - Saerieve - 09-02-2014 While some people drink because they find it pleasant, some people drink to be rid of the unpleasant at least for a short while. At the same time, there are those who drink due to neither of the two reasons, and simply because it's the only thing they're used to and don't know no other way to kill time. Giving the stranger a disgruntled look off the corner of his eyes the moment he sat down, Saerieve muttered "You're new, so I'm gonna do you the favor of saving you all the awkward you're gonna get from these lowlifes the moment you get up - People don't sit next to me, and neither should you." then throwing a brief glance at the bartender he added, "Which is also what that fella behind the bar was going to tell you."
Outcast uniform. Especially made, not the mainstream production line crap. Either a rich kid or a higher up, and either way, shouldn't be sitting right next to me without the bodyguards. Sure didn't like the last run-in I had with someone of that clothing, and sure would've enjoyed it more if the whore had no bodyguards with her. RE: The Casual Meeting - Stefz - 09-02-2014 As Saerive was muttering, Valente was looking at the bartender with his usual cold-blooded expression, though it seemed like he was looking straight through him. Rossi slightly grinned, playing with his glass of whiskey. "Do you have a problem with your ears, signor? If I recall correctly, I asked for a shot of tequila. Now, I really do hope you have a hearing problem, because it would not be nice ignoring my. My patience is limited, do not test it." The bartender stared at Valente for a moment, then quickly passed him what he was asked for. Not a second passed before Valente took a shot of tequila and calmly put the empty glass back on the bar, pointing towards the it, asking for another one. He looked at Saerive, slightly smirking before changing his expression back to normal. "Is there a written note that this particular place is reserved? If there is one, I would be more than happy to see it, otherwise, you might as well keep doing your own thing. I came here to clear my head, not get myself into senseless grudges." As Valente said that, the bartender passed him another glass of tequila. He took the glass and continued talking. "What is your problem anyway? Judging from your reaction, it seems like you have already had an experience with someone wearing this uniform, unpleasant one, I presume?" RE: The Casual Meeting - Saerieve - 09-03-2014 As Saerieve nodded at the bartender and continued his drink without looking at the man again, the bartender wrote "Reserved" on a napkin in a nearly unreadable handwriting and slapped it on the bar in front of the stranger.
RE: The Casual Meeting - Stefz - 09-04-2014 As the bartender slapped the note on the bar, Valente slightly smiled, taking another shot of tequila and signalizing the bartender to get him another one. For a second, bartender seemed surprised about Valente not moving away from Saerive. He took a little better look, and recognized the badge on Rossi's uniform - it was an unusual badge that he only saw on one man before Valente, and the bartender quickly realized it was one of the 101st Maltese Spectres higher ups. It took him about three seconds before he comprehended that he was trying to confront the Ghosts' administrator. As he looked at Valente's face, the bartender noticed a sharp look being directed towards him, quickly nodded, showing obvious signs of veneration and passed Rossi another shot. RE: The Casual Meeting - Saerieve - 09-04-2014 After a few long minutes of quietly drinking, Saerieve lightly tapped his glass on the bar, signaling the bartender for a refill. "You don't scare easy, don't pointlessly put up a fight either. I like that. So what brings you here?" Saerieve said in a low tone.
RE: The Casual Meeting - Stefz - 09-04-2014 Valente seemed kind of surprised for a moment, trying to figure out if the man next to him really started a conversation, or if it was the effect of seven shots of tequila mixed with a bit of whiskey. "What a surprise. Anyways, recently, there has been a giant twist in my life, and I needed some time away to clear my head and possibly have a normal conversation instead of all that formal crap that comes with power. What are your reasons for being in a place like this?" RE: The Casual Meeting - Saerieve - 09-04-2014 Briefly looking at the man and studying his uniform again, Saerieve answered "I'm a regular here, been comin' here since it was Yanagi. Don't you think that uniform's a bit too fancy for wearin' in a place like this?" and added after pointing at the few odd people sitting at the tables "It's the lowlife joint after all."
The man's awfully calm. The stressed, frustrated, overwhelmed type of calm. Can't place it yet, but I'm sure I've seen him somewhere before. At least I know where the uniform's from, and nothing good's ever come out of that corner of space. RE: The Casual Meeting - Stefz - 09-04-2014 Valente glanced at Saerive, took the glass of whiskey and slowly drained it, before putting it back on the bar. "To be honest with you, I prefer not to care about such pointless things. There is already too much stuff to take care of, I do not think I can afford caring about what you asked me too." After a short pause, Rossi continued talking. "The expression on your face makes it obvious that you have had the experience with someone wearing this uniform. Could you enlighten me? It seems like you are not too fond of it." RE: The Casual Meeting - Saerieve - 09-04-2014 "I've been on Bastia a time or two. Nothing pleasant." then signaling the bartender for another round, he continued, "But let's not get into that." After throwing another glance at the man off the corner of his eyes, he asked "If you don't care about the stuff people wearing suits like you usually do care about, what do you care about then?"
