Win 8.1 - djoser1970 - 08-29-2014 Does FL Discovery play on the new Windows 8.1? Buying a new gaming laptop system today a ASUS ROG G750JZ. I want to make sure it works, but I hear 8.1 is a pain in the A** Any feedback would be great thanks. RE: Win 8.1 - VinitS - 08-29-2014 yep i play on 8.1...no problem... RE: Win 8.1 - Papa Oomaumau - 08-29-2014 I dunno 'bout pain... I use 8.1 - and have used every windows OS platform since 3.1 - I've seen worse than 8.1 FL plays just fine on it. RE: Win 8.1 - Marc Shadow - 08-29-2014 Yes it works for sure! I changed my Laptop a few days ago and this computer works with windows8.1. Freelancer works fine! Cheers RE: Win 8.1 - Venture - 08-29-2014 Don't use windows 8 or 8.1, it's a new malware invented by Microhard. RE: Win 8.1 - Tunicle - 08-29-2014 Windows 8.1, make a recovery disk/USB now. Otherwise if things go pearshaped you will have fun getting it back. RE: Win 8.1 - djoser1970 - 08-29-2014 (08-29-2014, 01:03 PM)Tunicle Wrote: Windows 8.1, make a recovery disk/USB now. If you have not got a full installation disk then make the recovery USB/Disk now when computer is new. Many of the recovery functions (safe mode, system restore etc.) tend to need a working copy of 8.1 before they work. Of course the reason you want them is when your 8.1 is not working. Last windows update rendered our 8.1 computer non-bootable locked into restart - autorecovery cycle. Had no installation disks etc. as was a OEM Win 7 upgrade, needed a lot of DOS prompt work to solve. RE: Win 8.1 - Zen_Mechanics - 09-02-2014 Windows XP SP 3 Compatibality does the trick. |
