RE: The Cantina at Tinkers Haven - Vigilantes - 10-10-2014

Seraph nodded in a friendly manner towards Doreen, greeting another person at the table. Zettsu said, quietly again so as not to disrupt the music,

"See, I've been playing the piano myself, but I've never actually gotten as good as he is at it. And I've never seen a real-- you know, wooden-- one, just digital." He turned to Seraph. "Remind me to come here earlier tomorrow, I can't wait--" he realised he was getting to excited and stopped for a moment.

"I just imagined what it would sound like if you two actually played something, you know, together. Gosh, that would be a spectacle worth watching." She saw Fynn looking at her questioningly. "Oh, you don't know? Zettsu is playing the guitar. And really well at that. You should hear him sometime," she smiled while the vigilante gazed upon her angrily.

RE: The Cantina at Tinkers Haven - Doc Holliday - 10-10-2014

He could keep going with Scott Joplin rag time all day and night if he wanted to but people didn't realize classic piano sound in this day and age. Composers of old, songs of old that just couldn't be duplicated. Doc felt this. The more he played, the more he got into it. Another drink loosened him up just a little more. The ivories of the keyboard became so much of him. Songs just started coming to him as did his comfort in voice.

RE: The Cantina at Tinkers Haven - Derkylos - 10-11-2014

Over at the Hurthis' table, a hush had fallen as the piano music started up. Few, if any, of those present had ever heard live music, and most were only familiar with more modern tracks.

Only Christina, who kept a collection of old vinyl records aboard her ship recognised the classics...but soon enough, hands and feet were tapping along, or whole bodies swaying to the music.

By the time the Doc launched into "Honky Cat", Christina had gotten up and begun dancing, with the rest of the Junkers edging her on.

Jack, meanwhile, slouched back in his chair, a look of disinterest on his face, apparently more concerned with his drink than the music.

By the time the first couples started dancing Fynn was in high spirits himself.
So on a spur he stood up and offered Doreen his hand, grinning broadly.

Well, Doreen ? Care to dance with me ?
Give me a moment to sort out my feet, though ,
it´s been ages since somebody showed me the steps.

RE: The Cantina at Tinkers Haven - Doreen - 10-11-2014

With a soft smile, she put her glass down and with a curtsy and a smile, she answered Fynn, "Why Fynn McScrap it would be my honor." Rising from the curtsy, she offered her hand to Fynn for an escort to the floor.

He noticed the building crowd. He only wondered who knew this music. But, it didn't matter. Seeing Fynn in the corner of his eye getting ready to dance with his protoge, he decided to switch gears. Ragtime was fun but not very much for dancing so he reached back to his classical upbringing. Chopin he thought to himself....but which one. He just went with whatever came from his fingers.

Chopin

Fynn did not really know the music and had never before danced to something like it,
but he was prepared to follow the small signs Doreen was giving him and managed not to seem to awkward after some time.
And he was saved by the other couples now joining them.
After their Chief Doctor and their Foreman hit the floor no female crewmember wanted to wait for long,
and there were still about two to three times their amount of men around the Havens crews, so they found enough to pick.

Soon the central area in the Cantina was clear of tables and chairs, and only along the walls and around the bar the spectators had a chance to sit and watch, many of them smiling.
At the Bar old Olsen was wiping his glasses, thunder on his face and seemingly all ruffled up... till you noticed the little telltale lines of laughter around his eyes.

RE: The Cantina at Tinkers Haven - Sturm347 - 10-12-2014

Sturm was in a table in the far corner drinking by himself. he could he the Hurthi's siblings, the Vigilante pilots, Fynn with Doreen and Doc Holliday playing the piano, now thats a sight you don't see everyday. He was glad to see his friend dancing with doc Nagger, considering that he had a lot on his plate lately, he deserved some fun. He also thought that too bad Mr. Walker wasn't here, he would have enjoyed the sight and would have been great to see him and Doc Holliday compare some notes.

In the mean time he was planning some flight time since its been a while since he got out of Haven. He thought it might be a good idea to take Basti with him and scout the Kepler debris fields and see if they could find the wreck of the SRO Liner. He might also ask Fynn to let him see the Plans for the Jacinto City and Galena Park Project. He ordered another round from Olsen and went back to doing his reports.

RE: The Cantina at Tinkers Haven - Vigilantes - 10-13-2014

Neither of them were eager to join on the dance floor. Seraph started to think about sneaking out as the atmosphere started getting crowded and she was beginning to feel unpleasant. Zettsu was staring down his empty tea cup, carefully listening to the music.

He rose and went to the bar to get something to drink, carefully evading the dancing couples. He asked for another cup of tea and when he looked back towards their table, he noticed Seraph had disappeared somewhere. He smiled under his scarf and decided to stay at the bar.

RE: The Cantina at Tinkers Haven - Doc Holliday - 10-13-2014

Doc wanted to take a break but with the crowds getting larger and people enjoying themselves for a change, he kept on going. With people on the floor, he dug deep within himself to find something for dance. With a grin, he just started in
with Latin Jazz.
