Gaian Life - TheSauron - 09-10-2014 Eastern Leeds Smog Cloud, 10th September 821 AS. A lone Claymore class gunboat was swiftly traversing the eastern Leeds Smog Cloud. It's hull was covered in minor burns and holes and it's huge engines were working at full capacity causing the ship to vibrate slightly. The ship was almost completly black except the faint light coming from bridge's windows. Trevor, how's our beauty holding? - Flora once again looked through the windows. The bridge was cramped, with four cockpit-like seats with consoles around them. She was sitting in the front one. The helmsman's station. Consirdering the fact that Claymore's main defence is speed, this was pretty much the most important position. Huh... - Trevor yawned and blinked. He was sitting behind Flora, at the engineering station. He was a talented engineer. No one exactly know how did he found his way to the Gaian movement. It is a subject of thousands of rumors, especially because of the fact that he's coming from Arranmore. - Yeah, sexy as always, you could do something with hair though, it became kinda spiky... - he stopped for a moment hearing Flora's sigh - Whaaaat? Oh right, you ask about the ship... - he took a peek at his consoles. - All fine, few scratches and burns, but nothin serious. But out left engine is kinda too loud, dunno why tho... So find out. I don't want my engines to blow up in this forsaken cloud. - Flora looked at the ship's hull that was barely visible through the window. Just few scratches here and there. The Raven was a very tough ship. A little gem of the Gaian fleet. Heavy armor, superior agility, adequate armament. And it was her ship. She was the one that gave the bretonian gunners a headache. She was the bane of bretonian bombers. She was proud of herself and her crew. Alright folks, 10 clicks to the Manchester jumphole. - A navigator's voice coming from her right brought her back. - Looks stable. We should be able to jump without any turbulences. - Sherman. A professor of the Cambridge Research Institute. He could be sitting right now in his office, drinking coffee and looking as his bank's balance rises. Instead, he is sitting in here, among them, risking his life for Gaia. - Maybe... Excluding a molly convoy that's running away like mad we're alone. Man, this place is creepy as hell. - Vicky. She was sitting on Flora's left. The gunner. Everyone on Holm was slightly afraid of her. Not without a reason. Being a former BAF marine, she already showed that she isn't a person to argue with. And Trevor was the very first person that found out. Hey folks, did I told you the good news? - Flora asked and once again looked around through the window. What news? - As always, Vicky was first to react. We're getting a new toy... News...? - Trevor yawned - What news...? Flora sighed. We're getting a new assignment. There's a freshly built Essedarius waiting for us at Tripoli. - she giggled waiting for Trevor to understand what she just said. What?! Essedarius... - Trevor whispered with reverence -Yes, yes! Oh, Mommy, yes...! RE: Gaian Life - TheSauron - 10-06-2014 Holmfirth Base, Manchester, 6th October 821 AS. Flora was leaning on the railing of a small platform in Holmfirth's main hangar. She was silently looking at the Raven. Part of the hangar had to be cleared for it to even fit. It's broadside, or what was left from it, was completly burned. Reactor completly blown up, only one turret was still holding to the hull, engines were pretty much nonexistent. A little gem of the Gaian fleet. A symbol of their power. But now nothing more than a wreck... It was her ship. She was the one responsible for it. She was the bane of traders coming to and leaving Bretonia. She has scored tens of kills. And yet she failed. She failed to a group of renegades, deserters and drunk freelancers. A lone tear was running down her cheek. She could still see it clearly, even though few days have already passed. Sherman, calm as always. His left arm covered in blood from a wide cut on his shoulder. It was an awful wound, but he still somehow managed to dig Vicky out. Vicky... Flora couldn't stop sobbing. It was her fault. It was all her fault. What she saw there...She couldn't get rid of it from her head. It was just blood everywhere. Console, windows, chair, Trevor... She still could see clearly her desperate attempts to stop the bleeding. It was a simple massacre... Flora looked up at the Raven again. Band of monsters. Vicky didn't deserved that. She didn't deserved to almost die like an underdog. A pair of green eyes were filled with hatred. This was not the end. That wannabe major and his thugs will pay for this. And they'll pay dearly. RE: Gaian Life - TheSauron - 10-25-2014 Stuttgart System, 21st October 821 AS. A large cloud of hot dust erupted from the Westnebel. After a brief moment of swirling it slowly dispersed, revealing a Spatial Explorer flying on full cruise towards the Ostnebel. Stuttgart's red sun was shining warmly. Ship's engines turned off suddenly as it achieved the desired course. Flora leaned back in the pilot's seat and sighed. She couldn't wait untill they'll finaly arrive. Even though, according to what LWB sent her, the planet was a rather unfriendly place, she still managed to convince her two minions to go with her. Oh, I can't wait! Flora, you're saying that every 10 minutes, we've already took a note of your excitement. - Sherman sighed and looked at his console. Everything was fine. C'mon, Shermie, let our princess have a little fun out of this. - Trevor chuckled. - Tho 'onestly, I'm still wonderin what those "drachens" are. Mind tellin us bit more, princess? Flora took a deep breath. First and foremost, stop calling me "pincess". Second, those drachens... Well, all I know that they're big, flying reptilians. Kinda dragons, as their name indicates. After all, we're going there to find out what exactly they are. I can smell a lot of fun there, princess. Flora sighed with annoyance. She knew that she couldn't really stop Trevor from calling her like that. Maybe it's time to simply deal with it? She looked through the window at planet Stuttgart. A beatiful, fertile world, now slowly being killed by Synth and that greedy rheinland goverment. She had a chance to see various wonders of Stuttgart few weeks ago on Merzig Depot. Jillies, melons, various fruits and vegetables, even some animals. She thought about Gaian relations with Hessians, LWB and Corsairs. It wasn't the most comfortable position to be in. Even though she wouldn't really like to get shot down by Hessians before even arriving at Darmstadt, she wouldn't be really suprised if that would happen. And it didn't really made her feel better. She took a slighly more comfortable position and tried to get some sleep. RE: Gaian Life - TheSauron - 11-13-2014 Holmfirth Base, Manchester, 13rd November 821 AS. A loud roar filled the hangar as a Chameleon class fighter slowly descended on one of the landing spots. The hull was as always intact, but burned Salvations' barrels clearly indicated that there was more than one fire exchange during this raid. My, my, she's burnin' through our spare barrels like a whole squadron... What the hell is she doin' outta there? - Trevor chuckled and slowly approached the landing spot. As the ship touched down on the ground, the cockpit's windshield slowly opened, unveiling the pilot taking of her helmet. As always, it caused Flora's hair to go nuts. Oddly, she didn't corrected her hairdo, indstead she just simply put the helmet aside and jumped down on the hangar's floor. Trevor clapped his hands. Welcome back, princess! How was the little trip? - he shouted on the whole hangar, smiling at her. - How many downed this time, eh? When she came closer, he noticed the lack of her usual smile. She was crying. Woah, woah! - Trevor stopped Flora by putting his hand on her shoulder. - What's wrong, princess? - he looked at her with his everyday smirk. Trev, I'm not in the mood... You're never in the mood. What's up? Please, just let me go... C'mon, you can tell me! Trevor, please... I wont tell anyone, I promise. Trevor, for Mother's sake, leave me alone! But what's... Frak off, Trevor! Trevor stood there for a moment, not sure what actually happend. He slowly made few steps back and spread his hands. Something was terribly wrong. Normaly, she wouldn't react that way. He noticed that she was barely holding another wave of tears. Coupled with the mess her hair turned into, she was looking terrifyingly. I... I'm sorry... - she turned away and quickly walked towards the exit. Trevor looked around, still dazed after Flora's sudden eruption. He looked around, noticing that everyone was glaring at him and simply shrugged. Some people turned away, others just shook their heads, others definetly indicated that they didn't had a very positive attitude towards him. He sighed and started to wonder what could cause Flora to behave like that. What happend? - Victoria's voice quickly brought him back to the living. - That didn't looked very nice. Vicky! - Trevor turned around and smiled. - You're alive! Oh, right, sorry... - Vicky's cough made him understand that he couldn't avoid the topic. - No idea, I swear. She never behaved like that before. Something had to happen outta there. Did they lost someone? Nope, all ships are fine and dandy. I think we should talk with her. Don't want to say anythin', but she didn't really looked like sharing the story. Victoria sighed and nodded faintly. Looks like she has found an excellent moment to leave the hospital. We should try anyway. - she walked past Trevor and left the hangar through the doors leading to crew quarters. The faint patter of her robotic leg was the only thing Trevor heard in the silence. RE: Gaian Life - TheSauron - 11-13-2014 Few hours later, Holmfirth's bar. Trevor and Vicky were sitting near a small table in the room's corner. Despite the overall hubbub there was a bubble of heavy silence around them and everyone instinctively moved away. They were both staring at something in front of them, and Trevor was drumming his fingers on the table. The sound of the door's opening brought them back to the living. Vicky looked at the entrance and noticed Sherman standing there and looking around for them. She waved to him and waited for him ta take a seat next to her. What's up? - Sherman looked at their troubled faces. - That bad? Vicky sighed. She's sitting in her quarters for few hours now. She doesn't want to let us in, especially him. - she nodded at Trevor. How many times do I ha- Shut up and don't cross the line. But- Shut up! Trevor muttered something to himself. I guess that I'm missing something. What happend? I'm not exactly sure. She came back from the raid crying and that idiot here was pressing her with questions so much that she didn't withstand it, and well... Now we see the effects. - she ignored Trevor's muttering. - I guess that something had to happen during the raid itself. Myabe she met someone? Or heard something? Hm... - Sherman nodded. - Vicky, I know that this is a very hard situation, but I'm a xenobiologist, not a pedagogue. There's no point in me messing with this. And who is supposed to help her? - Vicky's voice was full of anger. - This dumbass over here?! - he pointed at Trevor. For Mother's sake...! That's enough! - Trevor stood up and started to walk towards the exit. Yeah, yeah, just don't start crying! - Vicky cursed silently. - Damn idiot. Vicky, calm down. You know it's not his fault. Then who's fault is it? Not his. Leave him alone, he's already as much depressed as Flora seems to be. Alright, alright... - she sighed. - Now you should already know why I've called you. Trev doesn't have any idea how to talk to her and I'm just too... impatient. Eh... - Sherman sighed and remained silent for few seconds. Sherman, we both know that you're the best person for this. You know her much longer than anyone around here. - she looked into his eyes. - Sherman, please, talk with her. Okay, okay, I'll talk with her... But I don't promise anything. Just try. I will. RE: Gaian Life - TheSauron - 11-14-2014 30 minutes later, Holmfirth's crew quarters. Muffled roar of the station was the only sound heard in the silence of the hall. Sherman was standing in front of one of the doors. He was standing like that for the last 15 minutes, still wondering how to start. He sighed. How long are you going to stare at those doors? - Vicky whispered to him. She was leaning against the wall next to the doors. Is it really necessary for you to stand here and observe everything? It's not helping me. - he whispered back. Do you want me to go away? I'd appreciate that. Alright. Good luck. Sherman nodded to Vicky and looked at the doors again. Slowly fading out pattering indicated Vicky's leaving. He sighed again. He didn't signed up for this. After few moments of standing, he finaly braced himself and knocked to the door. Silence. He knocked again, hoping that she may be sleeping and he could postpone the uncomfortable conversation. A muffled "Whosthiss..." came out of the room. He frowned slightly and softly spoke to the doors. Flora? It's me, Sherman. Can you open the door? Livmehlone... Uhm... - he stood there, not exactly sure what she said. - Flora, I just wanted to talk. Livmehalone....! Flora, everything's alright? - he kept speaking softly, but there was a sign of worry in his voice. Alsfine... You know well I can open those doors anyway. Please, don't make it harder. Fsfhshfhsfh... - Sherman almost shouted as a bottle hit the doors from inside. What in the name of...! - his mind was suddenly enlightened. Locked doors. Bottle. - Oh Flora, prove me wrong, I beg you... - he opened a small console near the doors and started to enter a code. A synthesized voice came out of a speaker hidden within the wall. Watcher Sherman Hitcher identified. Door lockdown lifted. - a metalic click from the doors confirmed that they were open. Sherman slowly pushed the doors. As they were opening, he saw a small table with a chair. And a bottle of wine. And then another. And then the third one under the chair. All of them empty. Sherman closed his eyes and cursed silently. First time since last 3 years. He opened the doors wider. A cruch could be heard as he stepped on the broken glass. He could hear a faint sob filling the room. Sherman looked at Flora. She was sitting on the bed, hidden in the corner. She didn't even looked at him, instead she kept staring at the wardrobe. Her face was all red and covered in tears and some faint remains of her makeup. She was still wearing her flight suit. Near her left hand there was an empty glass surrounded by a red stain on the quilt. Sherman took a deep breath and approached her. Flora... Flora, look at me. - he groaned as she looked at him. Her eyes were empty, the usual spark of enthusiasm was gone. He couldn't belive it was her. He turned his look away. An image of Flora standing in the middle of a wide plain flahsed in his head. Everything was red, the sky, the rocks, the grass... Only a large, dragon-like creature few hundreds meters behind here was black. And she was smiling. She was happy. Sherman looked back at Flora. No matter who did this to her, his time is short. ================================================================================================= She's sleeping. - Vicky stated the obvious after exiting the room. During the last hour they were cleaning the mess in Flora's room. - I've dressed her into something more comfortable. She'll be fine. 4 bottles... The worst kind. Where did she got them? When I'll find out who sold them to her he'll be as good as dead... Did she said anything? - Sherman looked at her. He was looking terribly. No. She just kept muttering something about life and her parents, nothing more. - she fell silent for a moment. - I'll keep an eye on her. Sherman nodded towards Vicky. Call me when she'll wake up. I'll try to find out what happend and who did this. At least I hope so... Okay... - Vicky looked at Sherman walking away. - Sherman! - he looked back at her. - Was it that bad? Sherman stared at her for a moment. He almost looked like a madman. No. It was worse. RE: Gaian Life - TheSauron - 12-13-2014 Holmfirth's crew quarters, 15th November 821 AS. Sherman knocked to the door with a slight hestiation. He was far from liking such conversations. He was a man of science and occasional fire exchange, not a therapist. After a moment of silence he knocked again. The prolonging anticipation was making him anxious. He looked around like he'd expect something to happen and solve all of his problems. Unfortunately, nothing happend and he sighed with resignation. Sherman almost jumped when the lock clicked and the doors opened. He was worried about what he's going to see this time. Luckily, all he saw was Flora's face with usualy messed forelock. Hey. - Flora greeted him silently and looked at him. After a brief moment of silence, Sherman noticed they're just standing there looking at each other. Hey. May I? - he nodded towards the room behind her. Yeah, sure. - she opened the doors and moved aside to let him walk in. The room was tidy, it'd be pretty much impossible to guess what happend here just 24 hours ago. How are you? Flora closed the door and sighed. She approached the bed and looked like she was about to say something, but instead she just lied down on it in silence. Uhm... - after a minute of silence, Sherman took a chair and dragged it closer to the bed. - Flora, I know it's hard for you. Everyone has some troubles in life. Me, Vicky, Trev. We had various problems in our life too. Doubt, anger, sadness. You know what we did? - he stopped for a second. - We've asked our friends for help. But they couldn't help us as long as we didn't told them why do we need help. They were helpless untill they knew what did we need. Flora, I need to know what happend to help you. - he stopped and looked at her. Flora slowly sat on the bed. She was visibly avoiding looking at Sherman. It's just... Uh... - Sherman raised his eyebrow and nodded encouraginly. - Uhm... I've had... a talk. What kind of talk? It was sort of a... personal one. Who were you talking with? - Sherman's voice was calming. His... His name is T-Taine. - she answered with hestiation. Taine... - he narrowed his eyes. - And what were you talking about? Is this an interrogation or something? - she raised her tone and looked at him. She was upset. No, no, of course not! - Sherman twitched nervously. He had to find another way of approach. - I'm sorry, I didn't meant to anger you. I just want to help you. Flora once again looked away and sighed. Besides a faint roar of the station, the room was completly silent. Even though the silence was just few minutes long, for Sherman it seemed to be an eternity. Suddenly, Flora's words brought him out of his trance. We were lurking around the lane as usual. - her voice was barely hearable and suprisingly calm. - I was in my Chameleon then, covering his gunboat. - she sighed. - I don't even know how... how did we ended up talking about our... 'motives'. - she sighed again. - He... he started to ask... to ask me if.. if... - her voice started to break up. - If I... if I'm a true Gaian. - even though she stopped and took a breath, she still had some trouble with speaking. - If... if that's what... what I want to. If I'm l-loyal... if that's what... what I want to d-do... with my life... - she started to sob. Her hands were shaking. - And... And I've realised... realised that I don't... that I don't... know... why... - she slowly started to cry. - Why... Why... I did... Sherman quickly stood up and sat next to her. He was starting to panic. Having no idea what should be done in such situation, he decided to simply hug her. Shhhh... - he calmed down a little. - It's okay, it's okay... - he took a breath and calmed down completly. His brain was working. A talk. Personal one. Either that Taine was an old friend of her or he was good at gaining people's trust. Or deceiving them. He recalled Flora's chaotic speech and tried to figure out the conclusion of that discussion. Apparently that jerk pressed her with intimate questions even more than Trev did back in the hangar. He shook his head slightly and noticed that something is different now. Flora wasn't crying anymore, just breathing heavily. Sherman...? - her voice was trembling and faint. Yes? I've left them... I've left them without a word... And now I'm killing people... Sherman... Why am I doing that? Sherman closed his eyes. The desperate search for any kind of stable ground in her voice terrified him. He had to be extremly careful now. A brief silence filled the room as he looked for the right words to begin with. Do you remember what you said to sir Andersen back on Cambridge when he asked you the very same question? Y-Yes... - after a moment of silence she realised he wanted her to go on. - I... I said... - she paused for a second. - I've said that... that I couldn't stand... sitting on Cambridge, while all those worlds fall... One after another... - she sighed. - They were killing them... Without... Without even thinking about what was lost... What wonders... Knowledge... Just look at Leeds, Sherman. Look what they did to it! I know what they did to it. Or New London. Harris. Now even Sprague... - her voice was more steady now, yet still full of sadness. - I've said that... That I find my sacrifice worth it. I've said that abandoning my old life for a chance to stop all this... To make a change... Was worth it... - she stopped and the room once again filled with heavy silence. And - Sherman made his voice sound as calming as possible. - was it worth it? - the faint roar of the station finaly broke through the silence. Flora wasn't moving nor saying anything. He was more feeling than hearing her faint breathing. Each second seemed to be years long. After a long silence that felt like a millenia, a single word cut through his head. A word, filled with anger. Hatred even. He barely held himself from a nervous twitch. Definetly... RE: Gaian Life - TheSauron - 12-21-2014 Holmfirth's crew quarters, 17th November 821 AS. Flora was sitting on her bed with a datapad on her knees and a cup of tea. She was very grateful for Vaelin's gift, even despite her suspicions towards his methods of obtaining it. She liked to browse the datapad from time to time. After all, she missed whole 3 years of their life. Even though the informations about her brother were vague, the datapad at least assured her that her parents were doing fine. Sudden loud knocking followed by Trevor blitzing into the room almost caused her to spill the tea all over the place. She looked at him suprised. He looked like he'd want to say something, but he just stood there doing nothing. Uhm... Uh... - he scratched his head while keeping the other hand behind his back. - I've... Uh... - Flora raised her eyebrow, making Trevor even more nervous.- Hmpf... You have...? - she looked at him encouragingly, amused with Trevor's abashment. Uh... I've just wanted to, uhm, apologise... - he blushed. - Ya know, for that back in hangar... So, uh, I've brought you this. - he pulled his hand from behind his back. He was holding a small flowerpot containing some soil and a small, inconspicuous plant. It had a featureless, green stalk and a featureless cocoon on top of it. It was looking like a piece of plastic. - So, uhm... Sorry. Flora put the datapad aside and stood up. - That's all? - she looked at him with a faint smirk, amused by the torments Trevor was going through in front of her. After all, he deserved a little payback. Meanwhile Trevor froze in panic, completly disoriented by her actions. A faint column of vapour coming from Flora's tea was separating them. After a brief moment of silence Flora finally gave up and started to giggle. Uhm... - Trevor looked at her completly confused. - What... No...! - he pointed his finger at her. - You are toyin' with me! You've deserved it! - she started to laugh after looking at Trevor's face. - Payback time! Oh? Want me to take this little flower away? No, no, of course not. - she smiled at him and then looked at the flower. - Now, what is this little? And what is that little? - Trevor chuckled and pointed towards the datapad that was still displaying her brother's photo. Uh? Not your business! - she quickly turned the datapad off. That looked too much like a datin' service... That'd explain ya good mood! Do you want to have to apologise me once again? - Trevor chuckled, but backed off. Nah... So, anyway, this little is a very nice and dandy plantie called... - he stopped for a moment and started to think intensively. - Well, it's called with a long and hard name I couldn't remember. Hope you dun' mind. But, but, but! Check this out. - he put the plant on the table and moved her towards the door. - Look carefully. - he then approached and stood next to her. - You'll love it. - he turned the light off. Flora started to wonder if the weird plant wasn't just an excuse for him to turn the light off for various other reasons. Nevertheless she stood there patiently, waiting for something to happen. The usual roar of the station was the only thing actually worth noting. She was about to ask Trevor what are they actually waiting form, but something has caught her attention. She looked closely at the table. The plant was shining with a fain, green glow. The cocoon was covered in a tight net of fluorescent veins, previously invisible in daylight. And it started to move. Flora was observing the plant in enchantment. Suddenly, three thick lines of green glow appeared in cocoon's surface. Flora could feel the tension that filled the room. The world suddenly filled with weird, green-blue light as the coocon opened, unveiling three leafs and a bunch of antennaes. Moving ones. Flora almost spilled the tea she was holding all this time. Whole "interior" of the plant was fluorescent. Like it? - Trevor whispered to her. A lot. - she whispered back. Sudden light caused the plant to almost immediately hide it's loafs. Trevor looked at Flora. She blinked few times, waiting for her eyes to get used to bright light again. Okay now? Yea, it's okay... Hug? Hug. RE: Gaian Life - TheSauron - 12-23-2014 Holmfirth's shooting range, 1st December 821 AS. Faint hiss followed by a very loud metalic bang marked another shot from a small rail pistol. Her favourite side arm. What was left of it's target wasn't the nicest thing to look at, but it's accuracy and power were greatly outweighing the visual inconveniences. Hiss. Bang. All this in a fraction of second. Flora pulled the gun down. It's somewhat thick and long barrel was sizzling faintly. Flora pressed a button on a small nearby console and the target swiftly moved towards her. It wasn't very fancy, simle metal plate with a white-red circles on it. And a smoking hole in the middle. Flora smiled faintly and looked at a noticeable dent in the wall behind the target's location. twenty four shots in the same spot. Out of twenty four. She thought about the beginnings of her training, shortly after Vicky lost her leg. She was hitting three, maybe four out of ten shots. She turned around after hearing someone clap his hands behind her. It was Sherman. He was wearing his usual lab coat couled with heavy combat boots. Flora couldn't understand why he kept wearing even when not flying or performing a field operation. Nice shooting, skirt. But you should tone down with this shooting a bit, you'll soon make a hole through the whole station. Flora muttered something in response. How are things? Pretty well, thanks. No dark thoughts and such? No, why? Sherman looked at her for a moment before responding. You need a break, Flora. I don't, I'm fine. No, you are not. You're spending hours in space or here on the shooting range. You're even sometimes flying on both shifts. - Sherman paused for a moment. - You're killing yourself. Trev, I'm... - she stopped suddenly and closed her eyes. Sherman only raised his eyebrow. Your flights for next few days have been called off. Now get to your room and take some sleep. When did you slept in your bed last time? Five days ago I think... - she sighed and looked at Sherman. - Okay, okay... Good. I want you full of energy and enthusiasm before your next "special" assignment. Oh? Me and Trevor managed to modify an Eagle fighter to make it suitable for atmospheric re-entry without using docking rings. We've decided that with your experience from Saarbrucken you'll be able to handle few little... expeditions. However, I'll lay down the details after you'll regain some mental capabilities you're currently lacking. Oh, come on...! How am I supposed to sleep and "regain my abilities" now? Much to Flora's annoyance, Sherman just shruged and walked away with a faint smirk on his face. RE: Gaian Life - TheSauron - 12-29-2014 Islay Ice Cloud, Edinburgh, 20th December 821 AS. A lone Kesterl was swiftly moving through the cloud, gracefully evading various pieces of ice that were thrown at it from the mist. The ship had a characteristic nose art showing a raven's beak. It wasn't just another supply run. Pilot's excitement was almost touchable. So many sleepless nights... I hope you'll finaly tell me what's going on, will you? Sure, sure... - Trevor seemed to be a bit off. Flora started to groan again. She was very excited about the "assignment" Sherman was preparing for her. She wasn't really keen on taking that break, but she was grateful to Sherman for forcing her to do so, however after he threw the magic word "expedition", it wasn't very hard to achieve. She tried to recall every conversation she had with Trevor or Sherman during last weeks. They both were rather amused by keeping her guessing. It was annoying her, and that made them chuckle and smirk even more, which created a vicious circle. As Flora recalled each conversation, she suddenly realised Trevor was a bit off during the flight. Trev? Yea...? Is everything alright? Uhm.. Yeah, why? You sound sad. Something happend? It's just... Nah, nevermind. What is it? - Flora reached to turn off the internal comm recording. - Come on, you can tell me. No, it's nothin', really. Really? - she looked over her shoulder, but she couldn't see Trevor sitting on co-pilot's seat. Really. Flora sighed. It wasn't often that Trevor was somehow depressed or moody. It just wasn't his style. Uhm... Hm? Uhm, uh, I've just... Wanted to ask, uh... Yeah? Wouldn't you sort of... How to say that... Come on, say it. - Flora's focus shifted from the expedition to Trevor's murmurs. She was intrigued about what he wanted to ask her. Uhm... Wouldn't you like to, uhm, go... go out with me? Dunno, for a dinner maybe? For a brif moment a complete silence filled the ship. She'd expect to see a bunch of BIS agents pop out of their cargo hold rather than hear this from Trevor. Much to her suprise, she fell that she's blushing and can't hold herself from a faint smile. She wondered for a moment about what to say. Uhm... Yea, sure! Uh... So... So how about after you'll be back? I've heard that they have quite nice restaurant out there on Islay. - Trevor got visibly less stressed. Flora could say she heard a sigh of relief. Sounds good. But only if you'll tell me from where am I supposed to come back. - silence filled the ship again, followed by a giggle shortly after. Nah, I'm joking. I bet that Shermie would eat you alive for telling me, hm? P-probably... Relax, you're behaving like you'd be asking Vicky out. I-I'm not nervous...! It's just - he tried to cough. - my throat... Yes, it's just my throat. Of course, of course... Well, here we are. - Flora turned the comm recording back on as Islay's massive size made the blue-ish mist fade into darkness. She was smiling.
