Cloaking device question - deepak - 09-15-2014 Is there a cloaking device available for all types of transport ships irrespective of the capacity hold ? Do they take any space. And can the ship with the cloaking device go through the jump lanes. Lastly, does the char with the cloaked ship show on the Neutral net in the particular system. Too many questions but this is the only place to know and learn ![]() RE: Cloaking device question - Arioch - 09-15-2014 Most your questions can be answered here: http://discoverygc.com/wiki/Cloaking_Devices But, to be more exact with your questions, here you go: 1) Anything above 900 cargo needs the Large Cloak. Cloaks are based on cargo size, not ship class. 2) They do take space. See the link above for exact specifications. 3) Yes a ship cloaked can go through tradelanes. The ship is still there, it is only invisible. It still is susceptible to planet collisions, weapon fire, and radiation damage. 4) Yes, your char will still show up on the Ingame player tracker/neural net. Hope that helps! RE: Cloaking device question - deepak - 09-15-2014 Hi. Thanks for answering.. The reason I asked it is, because few days back I saw a Corsair Train near in Kepler. As it cloaked after a minute it disappeared from the Neutral net. I guess the pilot must have F1'ed in space. Will check the thread now. ![]() RE: Cloaking device question - Arioch - 09-15-2014 Either F1 or if you were using TlagsNet, I don't believe it shows on that either. If someone does F1 out in space, the game displays a message that the player is "trying to engage cloaking device", then the player is auto logged out after 1 minute. You must have seen that message, right? RE: Cloaking device question - nOmnomnOm - 09-15-2014 Corsair Trains do not have CM slots so impossible to legally cloak. It should be a F1 for sure. RE: Cloaking device question - deepak - 09-15-2014 hmmm. I remember seeing it. It could be I was wrong. Next time I will take screenie if I catch that Corsair smuggler. His shields were down it was near the Ames Research Station Jump lane, about 3k away perhaps. Nevertheless, I appreciate your inputs. ![]() |
