i was thinking about getting the luxury liner
i guess many people like that it could be a trader (2500? space), has 11 class 7turrets so may be able to fight -- perhaps even fight opff a small capital ship? maybe?
how combat apable is the luxury liner..? (what ships do you think it can fight off and which ones should it flee from,...)
actually, i was wondering about the disposition of the turrets.. like how many of the 11 can fire to the left, up, down and so on.

While the cargo space is 4000 and the handling is less than desirable due to it's lenght, you can defend yourself from a gunboat due to 11 turrets, 220000 armor and 700 batts and bots.
I suggest trying the vessel in open sp first before purchasing in the server.

I thought it was 9 turrets??
and 4000 cargo I think
If I remember right, I had a prison liner, which is the same size, and guns but less cargo and armour
If its the same gun position/number of guns its between 5-7 in any direction (if I remember right)
7 forward, 7 rear, 5 to the sides/up/below
As a tradeship i didn't like it... its HUGE! Its not good to fly through any asteroid fields or dock with tradelanes...
Plus it's cargo doesn't match its size.
The container transport has 11 turrets? And 4200 cargo
Either way, if you want to fight off pirates, these are possibly the best options...
I've seen one destroy a corsair gunboat... there was another target there too though (me in a bomber) which did a lot of damage before it died to Solaris'
If you want to trade... the real money maker is the Whale - just cause of it's speed, and agility.
The Bretonian Royal Liner is the same as luxury liner, but far smaller, i don't know its cargo though

its got 1 little lvl 3 turrent good for defending your self .........not, its only for crushing rocks

use a container transport if you want a battle capable transport.

Container Transport has 12 turrets and Luxury Liner offers 11 turrets.
Container Transport: 500 bots n bats, 125000 Hit Points, Power capacity 200000, Power recharge rate 19000
Luxury Liner : #### 700 bots n bats, 220000 Hit points, Power capacity 300000, Power recharge rate 30000
On the top of it Luxury Liner can have Counter Measure and Cruise Disruptor and its faster than Container Transport.
The only small downside is cargo capacity of Luxury Liner is 4000 while that of Container Transport is 4200.

The Luxury Liner is a very capable light capital ship, having 11 turrets, 225K of armor and 700 bats/bots. I remember me and another Advanced train taking out a Lane Hacker gunship with ease once...
More to the point... It has a CD, CM, and its relatively agile for it's size. It's bat/bot capacity ensures it's survivability, and its shape puts fear into green (as in new) pirates , making them think something else is coming their way.
Not to mention it allows for many roleplay options, due to it's size (you can even roleplay a mini-carrier or the flagship of a very poor faction)

The container transport has 12 turrets. It can fire 8 of them in any direction, and 12 of them directly forward or backward.

My mistake, indeed Container Transport has 12 turrets. I would have to check about Luxury Liner's turret firing angles.
