I was curious.

How much time should have past between the time you look at a thread and the last post that was made, for it to be considered dead?

RE: Gravedigging - Caconym - 10-19-2014

A few weeks usually, very rarely a few months. Anything after that is considered to be dead and buried.

RE: Gravedigging - Karst - 10-20-2014

I'd think the limit of what's appropriate bumping is somewhere around two or three months.

But I also think the entire concept is stupid. Sometimes, a topic is just as relevant as it was when the thread was made, and if there's already a thread around treating the exact same topic, with good arguments already made, why is that a problem?
I don't see the point making a new thread on a topic that's already been discussed, but could use more input.
Grave digging isn't always bad. Graves can contain treasure as well, after all.

But that's just my opinion.

...

It's more like this.

The worst part is when a relevant topic is bumped, so same discussion could be continued, but moderators still lock it due to it being 2-3 months old.

Ok, ty for answering. This can be closed.

RE: Gravedigging - SMGSterlin - 10-20-2014

Wait until this gets bumped in half a year by someone agreeing that gravedigging is annoying.

I await the irony.

RE: Gravedigging - t0l - 10-20-2014

Why wait?

Gravedigging is bad.
