Dossier: Alekxander Steiner - Alestone - 12-12-2014 Name: Alekxander Steiner Age: 38 Affiliation: Red Hessians Whereabouts: Unknown History: Herr Alekxander Steiner is a former Rheinland Navy Hauptmann. He joined the Hessians after being scapegoated for an attack at the beginning of the current war with Liberty. The Admiral in charge of the Task Group had moved into Texas without orders, and died in the doing when his flagship was lost with all hands. It was just random bad luck that there were training exercises going on, but 4 cruisers were no match for a pair of battleships and escort. Herr Hauptmann Steiner had done his best and gotten himself and one of the other cruisers out of the system. When the battered Task Group had gotten home, the Navy Minister, the Admiral's older brother, had needed someone to sacrifice since war hadn't actually been declared. Steiner was the surviving senior officer, so it became his fault. While managing to avoid the death penalty, Alekxander Steiner was stripped of commission and drummed out of the military. Insult was added to injury when the Navy Minister retired the next month due to "health considerations"; retired, while was 'Xander was thrown out for actually getting two ships home from a disaster. It didn't take long for the Red Hessians to court the Kapitan. Unlike many Hessians, Steiner does not wear the mantle of the Red Hessians as an excuse. Rather, he sees them as a way to remove the corruption in the existing government. This means that, in his own eyes, the Hessians have given him a way to still be part of Rheinland and clean the filth from its reputation. Hauptmann Steiner will not tolerate random piracy, and expects any Hessians in his vicinity to act as representatives of the People, not just another group of exploiters. |
