Welcome to the jungle! - Hans von Goeben - 12-12-2014 - "The Common Guide To Sirius", Entry 112-A: Camping -
Sirius hosts an awful lot of planets which are able to satisfy any kind of taste you camping freaks out there have! We swear that we can name and pick the most suitable planets for you, regardless how extravagant your preferences are; no matter what you are into! Guaranteed!
Love the sea? Visit planet Junyo and put your tent on one of those lovely atolls! (Please keep the tides in mind, otherwise you do not need to wash dirty dishes anymore; compare with entry 243-B) Want an adventurous night under the clear sky in a desert? Come to planet Wiesbaden! (If any Freelancer is willed to make some cash, the article about the giant sand worms there still lacks vital information; compare with entry 8372-1) Or do you prefer the opposite? Going to planets like California Minor will grant you an unforgettable experience when you sleep in your self-made iglu! (We do not guarantee for frozen limbs, details in the small print, available for 9,99 SC!) Now, you might also like to explore a jungle planet. You might think it would be a sensational feeling in the midst of endless green! We tell you: It is not. No, seriously, stay out of there. The dangers are so extreme that the other planets will look like a kindergarden to you.
This especially counts for Gaia. We repeat: DO.NOT.GO.THERE. Under any circumstances. The reasons for this are so simple that everyone with a common sense is aware of them. The author of the entry therefore decided to omit those here, since only fools and madmen who are dumb enough to dare such a trip ignore them, anyways. Instead, have an ad... - End of entry 112-A about camping in Sirius - The scam advertisment for the new vac which also sucks in corners of the fourth dimension does not cheer up Hans von Goeben at all after reading the previous article. He debates with himself whether he should sue the author for insult, or create his own insulting entry about insultive authors. Maybe both. At the latest after returning from Gaia. But momentaniously, the book is anyways only lying about Gaia's dangerous potential. The sun gives Hans' white lab skin some tan, the ice cold beer cools down his brain and the hammock he is laying in is comfy and soft. A perfect day. What could possibly go wrong? Everything has been fine so far as well, from the spontanious decision to this very hour. Well, not including Hans' usual mishaps. But those are only caused by being clumsy as always. So no need for getting upset about a bad article. He glances over the holo-book's frame to the perfect bay he and his friends set up the campsite... He puts the holiday reading aside, and the dark sunglasses on his forehead. With a quick jolt, he lifts his body into a seating position and shouts across the beach towards the shallow, azure-blue water of the bay. "Hey, girls, want a Pina Colada?" RE: Welcome to the jungle! - Vaelin - 12-15-2014 Vaelin had picked out a spot under a tree, simply leaning his back up against the trunk. He wasn’t a fan of hot days and especially now – it was hotter then he would have liked, but he had failed to mention that. He sat with a book in hand and his legs crossed and his best to not squint at Hans’ elevated voice. He had a side arm strapped to his right leg; it was a device he simply wasn’t going to do without, especially here. Next to him he would have a bottle with just water in it, being one to not consume alcohol. For the moment at least he seemed to possess an unsociable air which were topped off with headphones in his ears. RE: Welcome to the jungle! - Shizune - 12-16-2014 Aika was splashing water at her lover with a giggle before turning and hearing Hans. She walked onto the beach soon after and grabbed a towel and wrapped it around her body. At this range one could see the body of a Kusarian naval officer or who was once one. She sat down near a large rock and stretched out "Na, I have a weakness to alcoholic drinks, remember Hans? Or wait..that is..a ale like drink..right?" RE: Welcome to the jungle! - Ram - 12-17-2014 Azumi, the other Kusarian girl, follows her wife out of the water, laying on a towel near Aika and Hans. "Sure I'll have a drink." Smiling to Hans then glancing over to the man sitting up against the tree. She thinks a moment then lays back again, relaxing in the sun. RE: Welcome to the jungle! - Hans von Goeben - 12-29-2014 As usual, Azumis' enthusiasm amuses Hans. She has always been the most spontanious and happy-go-lucky one in this group, while Aika is the calm, planning part of them. The freelancing scientist takes a step closer to the girls and Vaelin. In his white bermuda shorts, which color goes ironically well with the rest of his otherwise pale, unclothed body, the plastic flip-flops and straw hat, Hans looks like the definition of stereotype for a beach tourists. Even though he lacks the classic beer belly, his respectable size of six feet and nine inches, combined with the otherwise gaunt appearence and designer beard, moves him into the other extreme...the beanpole one. "Now that is the correct attitude, Azumi!", he smirks over to the couple,"...and to answer your question, Aika, Pina Colada is a good, old sort of drink. Rum, coconut milk, pineappel juice and ice. No one got ever hurt by that, gal! We celebrated your marriage on New Paris with much harder stuff, remember?" Without waiting for any counterargument from Aika, he turns to the man sitting in the shadow. "And you, Vaelin? Want one as well so you do not feel left out? Or would you like something else to clink glasses with us? We have to drink to the first day of our holiday on Gaia, after all!" RE: Welcome to the jungle! - Daerune - 12-29-2014 Vaelin Vaelin turned his attention up to Hans as he merely lofted a brow at him, one of his favorite mannerisms it seems. “I am distinctly non-alcoholic but if there is iced water, I would quite love that – and about holidays, isn’t there work you were here to do? I do believe that is why we originally came here for.” He moved his hands up to his ears and unplugged the advice before moving to stand, though he never left the shade of the tree. There was a reddish hue to his skin indicating that he was not doing so well in the heat. His gazed moved to the two that were laying down for a moment before turning back up to Hans. RE: Welcome to the jungle! - Shizune - 12-29-2014 Smiling and shrugging, getting up and walking over to Hans and bowing in a mannerly way."I'd love to try a drink then like that..." She got it and began to look around the general area almost like an owl trying to spot out a field mouse. "For a person who used to find Bretoina over this system, Its nice to see its not as war torn as Leeds anymore...I remember back in the day when the females of the Song Bird would just..stop here or there and party for the heck of it..." The look on her face says a thousand word about what she was thinking of, including the smile that went along with it that would out shine many other things."Heck, I will have to show you guys later the ole place we used to have here near this planet, a little private place me and the crew found while floating here in space just to watch everything...drift by...and stuff like that.." Aika was never one for words, however this was a rare moment when she spoke rather absent mindingly about the surrounding situation RE: Welcome to the jungle! - Ram - 12-30-2014 Azumi smiles and goes to hug Akia from behind hearing her say this. "Ah well that sounds great, already talking about our next trip?" She takes her drink as well, sipping it alittle and sits near the chair Hans had previously occupied. "I'm sure it will be a great one like usual..." She says this with abit of a smile towards her wife, leaning back on the sand abit to get comfortable. RE: Welcome to the jungle! - Hans von Goeben - 01-06-2015 Ow. That hit unexpected. This mean, ugly word; the opposite of fun; the natural enemy of every procrastinator like Hans: Work. Vaelin would have seen the Rheinlander pressing his lips together after this particular word was mentioned. Unfortunatly, Vaelin is the most reasonable one in this bunch, even though Hans hates to admit that. But the man sitting in the shadows is right (as always...). Goeben invited the others to come with him to Gaia, as this is an unique chance for them to go on vacation, and he won't be alone at such a beautiful beach. Of course they took the chance to have some relaxing days...but the reason why their host is here afterall, is a mission in the name of science. And science was never conducted by sitting in the shadows, and sipping cocktails. First, he professionally ignored Vaelin's statement and kept a stiff smile on his lips; watching and listening to the girls. The mental image of standing in front of a microscope and do laboratory research in the unconditioned tent is not very tempting. But, he gets payed for that...hopefully... After a minute, Hans sighs and turns to his friend. "...I doubt that you have ever been to a real human party before...", Hans whispers towards him,"...but I bet you would be the life and soul of such a party..." The typical Rheinlandish humor. Goeben has never understood in his life why some people seemed to take it serious when he was sarcastic or ironic, but this time, he makes sure to emphasize every word to guarantee that Vaelin catches the drift. "Alright...three Pina Colada and one iced water, comin' up!" No way he lets work, or Vaelin, ruin his mood on such a day. There will be still time in two, or three, hours to get stuck in paper work and microscopy. Or in the evening. Yes, that sounds right. The tent will be cooler by then anyways. Hans walks towards their campsite. They put it relatively close, next to their ships. Firstly, to have shadow on this treeless beach when the sun is high, and secondly, to have anything they need within their reach. The three tents are set up decentral from each other, even though a common fireplace exists. In one of the tents, the group put their supplies in, including the ingredients for their improvised bar. With the portable solar-powered ice box, it also is no problem to have freshly cooled beaverages and food. Goeben disappears through the entrance of this tent... RE: Welcome to the jungle! - Vaelin - 01-08-2015 Vaelin Vaelin only observed Hans for some time. His eyes would express more then his words might at this moment. he was contemplating the thought Hans might just be deranged before replying. "Oh yes, I am the life blood of every party. right before it is beaten to death with a twelve foot stick and thats after a barge has run it over." Vaelins voice carried the same contrast as Han's, he gave sarcasm and he received it back. Vaelins ship seemed to be a Gaian gunboat. There were Gaian identifications on it. but It was expressly apparent that he was not a Gaian, being that he wasn't trying to kill those who were trespassing. His gaze left Hans as he disappeared through the entrance of his tent and instead now turned to the two girls. He didn't have an words come to him to say to them. They were an unexpected addition to this endeavor. While the attention was off him, he would take the moment to slip away into the jungle. Having the express need for some time to himself, at least on the planet. When Hans would reemerge, Vaelin would be gone and hopefully the girls were to occupied with each other to notice his disapperance. |
